    Feature Box!

I've been fortunate enough to have all of my fics make it into the Popular Box at one point or another. But now, I've done the impossible.

I've made it into the Featured Box.

To my credit, I've been calm and and haven't lost my cool despite this amazing honor--

    I'm on Equestria Daily!

    Good evening!

As of today, I've had my first story featured on Equestria Daily! It's Music for the Mare in the Moon, the selfsame story that I wrote with Miss Spectrum and submitted a few days ago. So sorry, no new story--just me geeking out about appearing there.

    Hiya.

Recommending a novel this time. A real novel, not a novel-length fanfiction.

Music!
The Sword of Promised Victory, Fate/Zero rendition by Kajiura Yuki; originating from the Fate/stay night visual novel, where it was composed by NUMBER201.

Firstly, let me say that Fate/stay night is amazing. I highly suggest you play it, then watch Fate/Zero (you could read the light novels, but people tend to be even less interested in LN than they are visual novels). And then, even though you've already played through the route, you should watch ufotable's Unlimited Blade Works, because goddamn did it look amazing.

But that's not why I'm recommending it.

There are some events that happen in stories that need a soundtrack. Sometimes it's what runs through your head during a battle, or what you can almost hear as two characters share their heart with one another, or the ominous thrum that imagine when the villain seems to achieve victory.

This is what I hear in my head when Celestia goes to battle.

What should a Celestia ready for war look like? Majestic. Powerful. Graceful. The sight of her should inspire her forces and force awe onto her opponents. Nopony could look up to the golden shroud of flame and think of her as another pony or another enemy. She would be larger than life. And yet, as the battle comes to an end or when those brief lulls of peace arrive, her gentle nature arises once more to the fore, where it had but moments earlier been hidden behind violence.
