    Computer Troubles

I recently took my computer in for inspection and found out that either the charge port had shorted out or the motherboard is having issues. This means that my computer can't charge a battery. Thankfully, I still have warranty on it, so it's out for repairs. I have been issued a loaner in the meantime, so I will be able to continue my normal editing activities. Sadly though, I can't download

    Merry Christmas!

Not really too much to say here, but have a good time everyone!

Now is one of those few times I'm the year where everyone can get together with their families and share a nice talk over cups of hot chocolate and coffee and laugh about good times.

Remember everyone, it's not about the gifts. It's the memories you make. Hope you all have a good one!

Day Two of the Crystal Fair! · 4:44am Sep 27th, 2015

Well, this one certainly was packed. I set off from my place early in the morning and waited for all my buddies to get their lazy butts out of bed. So I ended up alone at the convention for about two hours. But I made the best of the time. I joined a small group of people who were standing around the autograph table and a few other guys and I all talked freely with Lee Tockar. It was a really nice, down-to-earth conversation with another guy. He had a lot of great stories about the things he's done during his life, all his connections to the people he knows, things he likes to do in his free time (when he has it), and his time in Saint Louis. The poor guy didn't manage to get up to the arch, but hey, what're you gonna do? A really cool guy, and I really hope he comes back again next time  Maybe we can get a few other voice actors to join in on the fun too! :rainbowwild:

So after Lee had to go for a decompressing period, because bronies are soooooo annoying, :rainbowlaugh: I played a few games while waiting for those guys who couldn't wake themselves up. So I ended up playing some smash 4 with a bunch of other people, and I smashed 'em up good as Robin, cause Robin is best character. Anyway, for a few of my victories, I managed to score a couple of buttons :rainbowkiss:

I got a 20% cooler badge because it was necessary, and I felt the obligation to pick up the one of Snips' cutie mark because he's here at the con after all! The last one, I bought for $2, cause I just had to have a specific memento of my hometown's convention.

So finally, I managed to meet up with the others, Famous came up on me and saw my last match of Smash, and was impressed by my 1337 skillz. We all met up with our very own Calm Wind and Playbitz in person for the first time in ever! Which was really cool! And I'm still the shortest out of all present... :ajsleepy:

At some point in the day, Famous managed to jack my phone and post a certain blog that many of you saw. I won't delete it because I thought it was funny, but he got himself a great verbal slap XD

We all talked for about an hour and made a few plans. After a bit of jumbling with convention panel swaps, we learned that one of the ones we wanted to attend today is actually going on right after our panel tomorrow. So we'll have to make sure to see it. We hung around for a long time, just talking and getting to know each other better. It was a really great time. Lots of laughs, smiles, and good conversation. 3:30 rolled around before we knew it, and we had to go listen to Lee Tockar's panel. He had even more stories, and we saw quite a few heartwarming moments involving a little girl in the audience named Virginia. And when he was doing some questions to the audience, I got up and answered that the best part of the convention so far had been meeting up with friends for the first time and meeting new friends. I received a length round of applause :ajsmug: That was a great panel. Lee Tockar: a class act for sure.

When we finished with Lee's panel, our little herd of bronies went out for dinner and games at Dave 'n Busters. For those of you who aren't aware of what it is, it's a grown up's Chuck-E-Cheese's. It's just the freaking best. So many arcade games. We overloaded ourselves on play credits and Calm Wind and I played some Time Crisis 5. He got his butt handed to him :rainbowwild: Jack and Calm showed off their guitar hero skills, (Jack also showed off his real guitar skills later), and I also played a heated game of air hockey with Famous. It was close, and I scored 90% of all points, half being on myself, but I won 7-6. We finally got called for our table and we ate some food and had some more conversation. With the food all eaten, we went back to the arcade for a little while longer. Jack and Famous played some skee-ball and they racked up a pretty good amount of points. Then we wanted to play a few games for tickets, and I won the jackpot of 500 on one of them! As we were rushing back to the convention, we made out like bandits. Famous and I bought like six pixie sticks and fun-dips each.

Finally, for the last part of the night, when we got back, I had enrolled in Lee Tockar's voice acting class for charity. He lowered the price so much. It was originally $150 for the class, but he cut it down to $20, and all of his proceeds from anything he's doing at the convention other than what it took him to get here is all going to Alex's Lemonade Stand: a charity that donates money to benefit children with cancer. I really wish more people would be as selfless, it makes the world so much brighter. Anyway, in the class, Mister Tockar gave us a lot of advice on how to work on voice acting and get started, how to properly go through and audition, and how to work on making up voices. The man is a wellspring of knowledge, complete with over 7000 credits in various roles. Definitely worth the bang for the buck.

Sadly, at the end of the night, I missed the Fimfiction talk for the most part, because the class ran late, but it was still worth it. I managed to come in at the right time to hear a lovely piece of fiction that I will share with you all a little later, cause I don't want to ruin the surprise :scootangel:

One more day of the convention. I can't wait for it to come, and I'll be sad to see it, and my friends go. But it'll be fun while it lasts. I hope you guys have all had as great a weekend as I'm having.

Good to hear you had fun!

One of these days, I'll need to save up the money and attend a convention and meet you all :rainbowdetermined2:! If only so I can apologize profusly to Calm for tossing all the fanworks I have at him! Or at the very least shake his hand and thank him for inspiring me to write again!

And that voice acting class sounds like it must have been awesome, or at the very least something to remember for years to come.

Hope the last day is as awesome as the first two were for you!

Wish I could go. :ajsleepy: I missed the one that happens yearly in my city for the second time.

Sounds like you guys had a ton of fun. I'll have to go chat with Calm and PB about it later. I bet they have a fun side to the adventures as well.

Wow bro!!! Sounds like a blast!!!!

Aw man, I love Dave & Buster's! Haven't been to one in a while, but they're lots of fun! I have an uncanny ability to figure out the Deal or No Deal game to where I've earned the top prize on it like four times. My parents think I should go on the real show at this rate...

Sounds like you had a better weekend than me; I mainly caught up on homework, sleep, MLP, and also worked on a community garden for mandatory Homecoming "serving the community" stuff. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the sentiment behind it and they let me try some darn good fresh tomatoes, but after I got back to the dorm and watched the part where Applejack's trying to weed everything but the park is too big, I couldn't help but think "that was me this morning."

Other teams got to do stuff like help out at a community fair or even build an outdoor labyrinth for Pete's sake, and while I love that needy people can have nice tomato soup because of me...in that moment I knew I was already done with this week. :ajsleepy:

Well, if you're ever in town for the Crystal Fair, I'll have to take you to mine! I'd be willing to try to beat ya at some games xD though I make all the wrong choices with deal or no deal if it's still there.

I'm gonna have to be playing catch up, myself! I have a lot of homework and edits to do along with a special blog.

And helping people is admirable. You should be proud of yourself. I donated a bit, but you actually got down and dirty for this stuff.

3427421

I have a new blog post out, and I'm busy with Homecoming too.

Unfortunately, the Dave & Buster's here is probably 20-40 minutes away from the convention center, a few towns over in fact. But in a few years, we'll have one in Overland Park (considering we do cons together that long. :derpytongue2:)

3427546

Ours was a 15 minute drive away from the center. We spent a few hours there and had fun. It's not so much the time, but what you can do with it.

3427614

Yeah. The Dave and Buster's here is in Kansas City (Kansas), and the convention center's in Overland Park. The outdoor mall it's in is pretty nice; I should go down there more often. Technically, I live in Olathe, the next town over from Overland Park, when I'm not doing my studies. Then I'm in a suburb on the Missouri side.

3427752

Well, maybe we should go during some downtime at Midwest Brony Fest  I'd enjoy getting to play some games with you.

3427762

Yeah, that'd be fun. I hope I'll be off my super-restrictive diet by then. I remember really liking their chicken parmesan.

Also, would you mind checking out my blog? I put a little surprise on there and it's got some new information concerning the episode on there. Turns out the new ep is only going to enhance my current canon!

3427801

Good to hear! And yeah, I'll take a look at your blog in a few XD Man, you really seem to value my opinion. It's pretty flattering! :twilightsheepish:

3427815

Thanks. You're just a very valuable fan to me.
