We got quite the bit of news last week when we finally got synopses and airdates for Episodes 17 to 20. It was also a bit of a memento mori to remind us that though Season 5 has just returned, it will sooner than we think come to an end. Hearthbreakers
Applejack is excited to celebrate Hearthswarming Eve with Pinkie Pie's family but soon discovers that the Pies have very different ways of enjoying the holiday at their Rock Farm.
First off, all these are episode titles from the leaked Episode list from a few months back. I admitted its accuracy long ago, but this pretty much clinches it. The order seems to match the list but the numeration seems to be off. This renumeration may result from the order of production being different than their intended order of release.
Anywho, let’s look at these episode synopses individually. I’ve speculated most recently that “Brotherhooves Social” will be the episode where we meet this brother of Fluttershy that the powers that be behind MLP said we would be meeting soon. I’m not too sure now. This synopsis indicates this episode will revolve around Apple Bloom and Big Mac since Big Mac has to fill in for Applejack in the Sisterhooves Social. It still sounds promising. It feels like it could go a similar way to “Family Appreciation Day.” Speaking of Apple Bloom, I still believe that it is very possible the Cutie Mark Crusaders will finally get their cutie marks this season. There are not a lot of episodes left though. This could be the episode where Apple Bloom at least gets her cutie mark. Maybe, but I don’t know.
I’ve speculated before that “Crusaders of the Lost Mark” would be the episode the CMC would get their cutie marks. This synopsis makes me less certain. I thought that perhaps Starlight Glimmer would show up, steal a bunch of foals' cutie marks, and the CMC would get their cutie marks in the process of getting back the cutie marks. Honestly, given this synopsis, I don’t see how that will work out. I’m not sure if the CMC can get their cutie marks helping Pipsqueak run for class president. Maybe they can. I’m just not sure. Another point brought up is how they’ll help Diamond Tiara in an unexpected way. I have long speculated that this would be the episode where Diamond Tiara undergoes the development that the powers that be behind MLP mentioned. So, at least I was right about that.
I never had much to speculate about “The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows” given its rather vague title. However, the synopsis here indicates that Pinkie will be privy to a secret surprise about Shining Armor and Cadance that she is not allowed to tell anypony. Shining Armor and Cadance huh. The powers that be behind MLP have fielded questions concerning whether or not Shining and Cadance will be having a foal with a distinct lack of definitiveness. I’ll bet you anything that what Pinkie Pie knows is that Shining and Cadance are having a foal. Also, chapter book author G.M. Berrow is supposed to author an episode this season, specifically a Pinkie Pie episode. I believe this may be that episode.
And finally “Hearthbreakers” where we will once more celebrate Hearth’s Warming Eve… in October. I know Hearth’s Warming isn’t technically Christmas, but it’s very Christmas-y. Why are they airing it in October? It’s one of my pet peeves that the run up to Christmas seems to start earlier and earlier each year. They couldn’t wait until November. I’d accept it more if it was airing in November. But I shan’t have Christmas keep overshadowing Thanksgiving! Anywho, this episode will feature Applejack spending Hearth’s Warming with the Pie family. I imagine we will finally be introduced to Pinkie’s other sisters on the show proper. And we’ll be seeing Maud again! I imagine Applejack is celebrating with the Pies due to their vague family relationship revealed in last season’s “Pinkie Apple Pie.” Continuity! This synopsis also explains why I’ve been hearing conflicting reports as to whether the Hearth’s Warming episode would be an Applejack episode or a Pinkie Pie one.
Exactly.
Oh, and another thing. You may have heard that Episode 21 "Scare Master" was accidentally leaked by iTunes. I’m not sure how much of an accident it was. According to the list, it should have been the episode that followed “Canterlot Boutique.” So, we finally know when this episode is supposed to come out. If the show sticks to its presumed schedule, Episode 21 should air on October 31, Halloween itself. Anyway, I haven’t seen the episode and do not intend to until it airs on TV. I’m not a fan of spoilers of this magnitude when it comes to the shows I love. So, I’m going to pretend this episode doesn’t exist. I’ll also appreciate it if no one mentions anything about it to me if you happen to have already seen it.

As always, I'm definitely looking forward to the upcoming episodes. The possibility of the CMC getting their cutie marks (I saw an Equestria Daily post that showed pictures of the apparently leaked cutie marks for Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle), Shining Armor and Cadance potentially having a foal, and meeting all of Pinkie's family. It's going to be quite a ride.
I was unaware of the leaked episode. I think the only bit of leaked info I accidentally stumbled across was a picture someone I follow on Deviant Art made of Applejack. I won't say any more than that. It wasn't a particularly spoilerific picture but it does hint at at something in the episode.
