I think the main difference between extroverts (like you) and introverts (like me) is what we find exhausting, and what we find replenishing.

I enjoy social situations immensely, but I can only take so much before I feel drained, and need some alone time to recharge.

You, I suppose are the opposite, needing to spend time with people to build up your energy.

I've always fallen in the middle of the whole introvert/extrovert thing. I've taken several Briggs Meyers tests over the years and every time I get middle of the road on the I vs E scale, usually a change of one or two questions on a whim will swap them. (Luckily the other lettees stay consistent )

It works well for my career though. My schedule keeps my social life at near zero and I'm alright with that. But as an exec chef you also have to do meet and greets, talk with business partners and be that social butterfly with customers.

Hmm, for me that's caffine. Always charges my batteries. I've never felt socially drained before and had to "get away" but there are days where lazy wins and I do nothing. I'd guess that puts me closer to introvert though sonce I tend to enjoy alone time as default these days.
