    An Update

So this blog was a long time coming.  It’s been, uh, quite a while since I posted here, and I’ve also been somewhere between glacial and snailish on getting new stories out.  What have I even done this year? Three or four? And a couple were just a thousand words. One was even a poem, and I’m not even sure that counts.

All I really want is something beautiful to say.

Ain’t that the truth? Why else do we talk so much?

Seriously, try to remember every word you said today. Or wrote. Or heard. Or read, including these. Can you do it? I doubt it.

Yet all those words were conveyed. They all held some kind of meaning, right? Why else would you say something?

All I really want is something beautiful to say.

What’s the alternative? Something clumsy, I suppose. Perhaps forgettable. We don’t want that, do we?

You gotta make it stick. Once you say something, it’s gone. Be it kindness or cruelty, it’s gone.

Did you make it memorable? Did you make it stick with somebody? Do you know that they’ll remember?

Do you even know if you really want them to?

I wish I had something beautiful to say here.

Sapphire Shores is haunted by her mother's whispering voice. Her dreams are filled with letter after letter, all asking the same question. It isn't until the mail catches up to her tour that she learns why.
