Max is dead. And this is much harder than I thought it was going to be. Blogging this is actually harder than realizing it I guess. My dog is gone, though. Anyone that wonders if he was going to make it at all can stop wondering. And yes, it does very much so suck.

I'm sorry. I don't have a whole lot of experience with my pets dying - or having pets at all for that matter - but I did have some hermit crabs, once, that died on me. I was a little kid, and it felt like my entire world was crashing in on me. It took me a long time to get over, but I came to realize that they wouldn't want me to tear myself up like that. Perhaps they were gone, but their stay was becoming painful. They were suffering. Me wanting them to stay with me, in such a state, would in a way have been selfish for me. They would want me to live on. They would want me to be happy. They would want me to be the most amazing me I could be.
To whoever's going to say "they were stupid hermit crabs they never had feelings" you are right that they had hermit crabs. But their hearts I can tell you right now were bigger than most people I know. I guess what I want to say is, just don't forget Max. May his legacy live the eternities in the hearts of every life he touched. We

3420728 Thank you. It's okay now, though. We buried Max after he had been dead for more than two hours, giving off a stench that made it VERY hard to mourn for him.
