Actually, I'm Dead - Autopsy: Schrodinger's Butterfly of DOOM! · 2:29am Sep 17th, 2015

No, not that Doom.

Okay, first of all, this editorial was meant to come before Chapter 7, right after the second interlude. But the absurdly bad timed combination of my nephews coming to visit, a bone-crushing cold and your typical Chilean earthquake delayed its publication, so here it is.

Now, here's one good question that the interlude was supposed to raise but nobody asked; What's up with Trixie being "outside destiny"?

Well, first of all, I would like to rephrase Celestia's dialogue by starting with time as a simultaneous system instead of a linear succession. Watchmen's fan, you already know what I'm talking about. For everyone else, let's put it in this way; when something happens, even if it looks like a random thing, it's always affected by previous events. There's always a why to every what. Everything that is right now depends on what happened before and defines what will happen later, and since the now is applicable to every point in time, then every point in time depends on every other.

Now, before inducing Trixie into all of this, let me get another concept; Hypertime. It's a theory saying, among other things, that each time we're presented with more than one option, an alternate universe is created for each one of them. Think about those chose your own adventure games where, depending of your choices, you get different endings. Well, hypertime postulates that each one of said endings exists somewhere.

From these two theories come the infamous "Butterfly Effect".

Here's where Trixie enters. As with every sentient being, all the choices that she could have made, or the events and possibilities she could have directly affected were supposed to be limited around her lifespan and what she did with it, with dead being an ending to said set of possibilities. But, since she didn't die, she's inside a timeline that has no idea what to do with her.

In other words, Trixie's presence, as an impossible, is one giant cosmic span in the works, which means that her only presence could literally redefine events posterior to her "death"

A practical example is Wonderbolts Academy. In the usual timeline, RD get closer to Lightning Dust (shamelessly ripping off Top Gun), the become buddies, Pinkie gets nervous over RD, LD almost kills the remaining Mane!Six, RD distances herself from LD, etc. Trixie's presence could disrupt any of those events, like preventing Pinkie from getting too worried, or getting five of the Elements of Harmony killed and everything in between those two extremes.

Heck, if this is as bad as Celestia fears, the Trixie could prevent the entire episode from even happening!

Thanks for your time.

Trixie could be now the turning point to turn the reality from the left into the one from the right.

I totally read that with the Honest Trailer's EPIC! Voice Guy's voice.

3398166 :rainbowlaugh: now i'm trying to do it
he must say it in one of his vids that would be awesome

... I read all that as "She's a walking Non-Sequitur". Followed shortly by the thought "Now I wonder if this is as bad as being unstuck in time"

On a side note, I wonder if Duo's cuteness is partially from the mere fact that he doesn't recoil at horror at Trixie...

I was going to propose "Sandvich makes me strooonger" on the next Honest Trailer.

3398186
Yeah, pretty much to both notions.

3398200 i thought he already said that one but i could be wrong:rainbowhuh:

Well, at least she isn't wielding a future copy of herself as a sword... yet.
