I don't normally get pissed off... · 7:16pm Sep 14th, 2015
... but when I do, I prefer Apple Family Cider,
...
Wait, that's not right...
Anyway, as some of you might have heard me say, my plan for 2016 was for me and the missus to head to BronyCon. It's our ten-year anniversary, and as Mel is fond of saying: "The ten-year anniversary gift is totally ponies, right?"
Welp, we just went to book our stuff today and we come to find out that this year, BronyCon has been bumped up a few weeks. Instead of the end of July/beginning of August, it's taking place the weekend of July 8th-10th.
The exact same weekend as ConnectiCon. Which we go to every year because it's the favorite, big local Con for both us and Mel's brother, who always comes with us. This is also the first year we've finally managed to convince like, five of our closest friends to come with us to CTCon so we can all do a group cosplay we've been talking about for... well, about ten years, actually.
Needless to say, Pirate is not happy. Not happy at all,
Like I said above, I don't normally get angry, but right now, man... right now I feel an incredibly strong urge to channel my inner Isaac Washington:
WARNING: CUSSIN' GALORE
Deep breaths, Pirate... And a lot of rum. Isn't there a way you can catch both?

The deep breaths and rum or both conventions?
'Cause unless you know where I can find a Mirror Pool or know some other way I can be in both Hartford, CT and Baltimore, MD simultaneously, I don't think that last one's happening,
Although I wouldn't want to try and breath and drink at the same time either; that just sounds like a recipe for a really bad burning sensation deep in my lungs,
3392978 I meant you need to calm down. But never mind. I thought they were just on different days, in which case you could marathon the conventions.
I'm sure you'll figure it out. It's many months away. Isn't there a way you can catch both?
who the fuck sets their convention at the same time as another convention?

Unfortunately they're literally (and I mean literally; not 'figuratively' or whatever that word is supposed to mean now, ) on the same weekend and ~300 miles apart.
The group we've got going to CTCon has been planning on doing this for a long time and a bunch of us already have our hotels/tickets purchased. BronyCon was just going to be me and the waifu, and after all the trouble it's been getting this group of friends organized (we got one dude coming in from Louisiana), we can't just ditch them in good conscience,

Happens all the time; especially cross-genre. In fact, most years the Mother of Them All, San Diego Comic Con, happens the same weekend as CTCon. This year SDCC has been moved a few weeks later to July 21st-24th... part of me wonders if the BronyCon folks made this move so they wouldn't be competing with SDCC,

You forgot to ask if he could attend both cons. Way to screw up the joke, Stiggerzz.
