Weekly Report #2 · 11:05pm Sep 12th, 2015
Has It been a week already, since I started reporting my progress? Wow!
Well, there isn't much to report on this week... aside from what I'm planning on doing in these. These blogs are a way to keep you guys informed of what I have accomplished; as well as making sure I get something accomplished. (or getting damn good at making up excuses, one of the two) I am also going to be sharing my thoughts about that week's episode (if applicable) and telling you all, generally about the boring things that are happening to me.
So in a way a Weekly Report!
Well first order of business: The first chapter of DE: A Filly in Orange is almost complete. I have so many things in my head that I have abbreviated Decades of Equestria to DE. Wow, such a big head Benner, you don't even have a story out and you're already abbreviating its name... Anyways, I have changed the name of the first book from "Memoires of Spotlight" to "The Filly in Orange" it's just a bit of an update to keep the name more in line with what is planned fro the rest of the series. Wow, such a big head Benner, you don't even have a story out and you're already planning sequels... Chapter 1 of DE:FO is about half edited, I about 95% of the way through my first pass while my editors are still working on the first page or so.
Other than that I was playing around in Ponyscape and I made this beautiful piece of Cover Art:
Ya, its rough but it will do for the early beginnings until I get better at vectoring or get some money to pay someone to do it for me. Other than that not much has happened on the Story Side of things, aside from Zid and I beginning the planning of "DE: The Blade of War" the fourth story in the series so far.
Season 5, Episode 14: "Canterlot Boutique" came out today and I was not very impressed, it had the exact same concept as Season 1, Episode 14: "Suited for Success." I'm not going to give out spoilers, but there wasn't really anything all that interesting added to the show's cannon. Everything added was kind of mundane, Goths, Obesity it is all adding to the "Equestria is America" portrayal but beyond that it doesn't do much. I know how I just said there wasn't anything interesting, there was one thing semi-interesting however: the introduction of a character named Saucy Saddle.
So aside from that name... totally not a prostitution reference right there, subtle Hasbro; and the little immature teenager in my head rolling on the floor laughing she brings an interesting concept to the table. Managers, it's something that we just assume is there, but it has been canonized. That and the whole "can unicorns move more than one object telekinetically at a time" debate just got some fuel poured on its eternal fire.
Wow for having nothing to say about an episode I managed to come up with two paragraphs of things to say... also Sausage Pony!
As for myself, well I have had the severe call of the Counter-Strike, I think I'm getting close to like 200 hours in that game. XCOM: Enemy Unknown is also free on steam for the weekend, and I have been having some fun with that. My NSFW Contest has about a week left, I hope that I can get two or more entries so that Katl0ver doesn't win by default.
That about sums up this week's report, Zid is getting that whiney "notice me senpai" voice. So I shall say my goodbye. I look forward to checking in with you guys next week and as always:
Flutter On!!
