Project Icicle Hiatus!? · 8:17am Sep 11th, 2015
Hey folks!
This might be long, look for bold headings for important things if you don't like reading. :P
With the recent release of chapter 7 of FoE: Icicle, I thought I'd throw out a blog to update anyone interested. Like the last blog said, college has begun and I'm working on learning a new language (Japanese, 2nd year!) and multiple programming languages (C, Java, & Agda) for my classes. This is only the 3rd week in, and I'm already struggling to come up for air, so to speak.
Probably Unnecessary Information:
With this being my (hopefully) last year in college, I want to ensure that i graduate with decent grades. I'm a bad student, and I admit that. I'm lazy, hate attending class, waking up early, and having deadlines. Also, I don't learn very well through lecturing anymore. Last semester, I miraculously pulled off a few Ds in my classes I though I was surely going to fail. As a normally A and B student, I was quite shocked.
Thus, I am trying to cut things out of my life that I don't necessarily need to do that are time consuming and cause me unnecessary stress. One of those things is writing. While not exactly stressful, it is time consuming. And when you're juggling work, school, homework, and sleep every bit of extra time is precious.
These previous few weeks I've probably only had about 30min of time to myself between everything. It has left me feeling quite rushed and panicked lately. I've been attempting to wrap up a lot of things, so that is probably why.
FoE: Icicle:
As the title states, I have set Icicle to Hiatus status atm. Chapter 7 was just released and it is somewhat of an excuse to step away for a while. It ends without a cliffhanger, unlike some of the other chapters. Once you read it, there is also some info about how I plan to start off Chapter 8, so me taking a break can be interpreted as the story moving according to real time. Or something.
I am still planing to finish it, however like I said, I just don't have much time. The second story "arc" will begin with Chapter 8 and should bring us close to the ending. I have sequels to it planned, but most of those are just novelty little things without much major story. Anyhow, a lot of stuff is planned for the story, don't worry.
Incidentally, if you are making your own FoE story and want to incorporate a random character, feel free to use Ratchet! This is the reason and some info if you wana do that, BUT SPOILERS!:
This is hella-spoilery. I mean like, this is literally the ending of Icicle. So, if you don't want the ending ruined, stop reading. If you are like me though, and care more about HOW things happen and not WHAT happens, continue on. Ok, so Ratchet enters the Cryo-pod again. Basically, my plan for her is to journey through various stories hearing about the tales of others and perhaps interacting with them at times. She can move forward through time, so she'll mostly remain the same throughout. Also, CORA is static as well with her. They are a pair, you know. I want to at least write a story about Ratchet viewing the world after Lil Pip and completing her goal of fixing the wasteland.
Geez, that was a long spoiler. No taking that info back folks, hope you didn't look if you don't like spoilers!

If you don't know, I record fanfics and upload them to youtube. I also do occasional gameplay videos of various games. This is also something that i'm trying to finish up so I can focus on college. I'm currently recording The Long Winter, another FoE story. Once I'm done with that, I plan to not record anything else for a while, unless it is REALLY short and I REALLY want to, or I REALLY like it. I've also spent the past few weeks recording Fallout 2 for my playthrough of it and staying up until 2am almost every damn night because I record in 2hr sessions and i'm not a clever pony.
Anyhow, my YouTube activity will be dropping off here in about a week or so.
Final Words:
Sometimes you just gotta focus on real life, ya know? Personally, I don't like the real world all that much. If a Sword Art Online, .Hack, or Log Horizon type scenario (getting trapped in video games) occurred to me, i'd embrace the fuck out of it. Mainly because I am lazy and don't like responsibilities. BUT, since I gotta pay the bills I have to attend school to get a degree to get a decent job to get money so I can live my lazy lifestyle.
My dream is to do nothing but watch anime and play video games, but aside from winning the lottery, I don't think that'll happen exactly as I want it. Thus I conform to the will of society and go about acting like a model citizen. Thus is life!
But geez, this was a lot of irrelevant information that was entirely not relevant to this site at all. I guess only the FoE: Icicle thing was. Whatevs. It's 3am, I gotta wake up in 6 hours, I'm Plagen and until next time, HAVE FUN!
