Sorting the Characters of MLP

If you've followed me for a while then you probably already know that one of my all-time favorite series is Harry Potter. So, for the heck of it, I've just randomly decided to sort the characters of MLP into the Hogwarts Houses I think best suits them. Those of you who are not familiar with Harry Potter...I guess this isn't the blog for you. So I hope those of you who are fans of Harry Potter like me will be interested to indulge in this bit of random sorting. So, let the "sorting" commence!

I think I'm just going to stop right there before I go through EVERY character. What do you think of my sortings so far? Agree with them? Disagree with them? How would you sort characters I didn't list here?

I think Sombra and Tirek are more Gryffindor than Slytherin if you ask me. Sombra didn't really exhibit cunning. Ambition, certainly, but not cunning. Tirek also brute forced his reign of terror. Not enough power? Let's add MORE!!!

Pre-RR Sunset Shimmer is definitely Slytherin, but after that I think she's a bigger Hufflepuff.

How come no Maud Pie? I'd say she'd be in Hufflepuff.

I'd have to disagree with your choice for Starlight Glimmer. While she is ambitious, she wants equality. And if you look at her backstory, you see she has a reason to want it; she was scared to be left behind again when her friend left for Canterlot after he got his Cutie Mark. With that said, I think she's more of a Hufflepuff.

I can argue the mane six could all be hat-stalls, and I could see Both Trixie and Twilight maybe Leaning Slytherin more, but then again I'm just a little biased (being in the house of silver and green,myself), And I could see maybe a drop of slytherin in Dash, (wanting to be a wonderbolt and all) but the hat would be more focused on the puff in her vs the grifindoor. and I could see fluttershy as a nevile longbottom style Grifindore

I’m six years late, but never mind. Here’s a thread where I Sorted the Mane 6 and gave a brief explanation as to why.

Sunset is pure Slytherin. The reason is this: She’s ambitious, cunning and sneaky, but, like Rainbow Dash, she is fiercely loyal to her friends. She jumped in front of the full blast of the memory stone out of loyalty and love to her friends. The reason why she became Daydream Shimmer was because of her loyalty. If you look at Scorpius in the Cursed Child, neither he or Albus is particularly ambitious(until Delphi came). However, his steadfast loyalty to Albus in Part 2 makes him a Slytherin; he actually goes back in time to save him! He and Albus also stick by Delphi even though she was evil! I see Sunset doing something similar. If any of her friends were in danger, she (or Dash) would be the first to help. I suppose she could also be Gryffindor. She was brave enough to jump in front of her friends and is a daredevil; in the Holidays Unwrapped, (please someone correct me if I’m wrong) wasn’t she the one who came up with the idea to break into the school? She isn’t a Hufflepuff because by default Hufflepuffs have to be nice(just look at Susan Bones or Hannah Abbott). Sunset frequently loses her temper and says some pretty horrible stuff and she can’t seem to get a grip on her temper(remember Friendship Games, Forgotten Friendship and Rollercoaster of Friendship). Fluttershy, sure, she’s a Hufflepuff. Nice, never loses her temper, hard working. I don’t see Sunset being like that. In my eyes, she's a Slytherin.

I agree that Sombra and Tirek are more Gryffindors- they behave a lot like Seamus Finnegan- reckless.

Rainbow Dash is a Slytherin- ambition(Wonderbolts) but most importantly, she’s loyal(S1, EP1 and 2, FIM). She may not be the most cunning, but she’s loyal, and her behaviour is a mix of Draco’s ambition(to please his father and be a Quidditch player) and Scorpius’s loyalty(towards Albus, Delphi and Rose)

So sorry for this miniature essay- I’ve been trying to figure out Hogwarts House for every single MLP character, with evidence both from MLP and Harry Potter.
