A is a more... hopeful turnout for the important characters, as in, they all live.
B is like the canon of Mobile Suit Gundam's One Year War. Characters that could have had an impact on the events of Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam's Gryps Conflict are killed during the events of the One Year War, thusly affecting the outcome of the Gryps Conflict and beyond.
