Celestia adopts a changeling idea up for grabs · 6:13pm Sep 5th, 2015

So I was going to give this idea to TheMyth, but he's not a fan of changelings so this idea is up for grabs for anybody who wants it. Here is the start of it, but I will give the person who takes it the rest of the details:

Princess Celestia, after instance from her sister who says she is overworking, decides to take a break and ditches her guards for a lonely spot in the mountain where a small garden grows that she hasn't visited in years. However, when she arrives she spots somepony also there and is attacked by magic she reconizes as changeling magic. She easily beats the changeling but before anything else she stops when she sees that it is protecting an egg with a changeling baby inside, realizeing it is a mother. Not wanting to hurt it, she gently talks to the mother, learning her name and slowly beginning conversation. Celestia leaves but promises to return, alone.

Celestia does return the next day with food and medicine for the changeling mother who hesitantly excepts it but does. However, she is more worried about her son who needs love to grow and she explains that she goes into Canterlot, disguised at times to feed love and give it to her son. Celestia, as a show of good will, gives her son her love as well as the mother to feast on. She is moved by this kindness and trusts her more.

The two slowly become friends as time goes on. The changeling teaching Celestia about changelings, which make she realize they are not monsters, and Celestia teaching about ponies. however, two of her guard are worried about Celestia and follow her. Upon seeing the changeling they react and spear her much to Celestia horror as she tries to save the mother, but she is dying. Her last wish to Celestia is to watch over her child and she dies. Celestia, angry as hell, hurts to two guards and orders them to leave. That night, Luna comes and sees Celestia has crafted a casket for the mother to rest in and decorated it with flowers of the garden. The two sisters talk and Celestia tells Luna everything, as well as her promise to watch over the child. Luna supports her sister as they bury the mother and place a gravestone for her.

Just as the mother is fully buried, the baby changeling hatches and sees Celestia, reconizing her love, he thinks she is her mother and Celestia instantly falls for him and adores him. Luna also finds the changeling to be cute and is moved when Celestia calls her Aunty Luna. Luna warns that others will not accept this adoption, Celestia says she will handle it. She presents the baby to the grave and tells the mother she will watch over him as she prays she will watch over them from above. The sisters return with Celestia giving instructions to the guards to ttake the other two away to jail for murder while the maids are told that the changeling is her son. Although confused, they obey.

Let me know if you want it.

Hmmm...I like it.

I, too, like this idea.

3371117 I'm working on a few things so somepony else can take it. I'll just read it.

3371117 I'd do it, but I've got too much on my plate atm.

I'd take it... but you see how the last adoption turned out.

I like it as well. It's a very touching premise.

3371757 Ehh... sorry, I should have clarified that earlier. Like I said, it's a good premise, but as for me, I need to concentrate on my own story and I want to move on to other things after that.

Not a bad idea, really, although I do think it over-vilified those two guards. They were only trying to do their job, which is protect their Princesses. They had no idea of the situation and are likely trained to see changelings as potential threats and only reacted the way they did (perhaps overly so) because they though their Princess was in danger.

Still, it depends on how the author decides to portray them.
