And It Rained All Night started with an open ending on 05/17/2015, was edited to have a definitive ending on 08/23/2015, and has since reverted back to an open ending on 06/29/2016, while retaining the edits that qualified the story for EqD publishing.

Comments and reviews on the definitive ending were mixed, and I was never fully satisfied with giving the story closure. There's a valid argument in support of / against both open and closed endings, but the open ending is the one I am most satisfied with, and which I feel matches the story's events more faithfully.

Yeah, after having reread the version with the open end, I definitely prefer the definitive ending version.
Something just feels missing from the open-ended version that the definitive ending had, and I think it's that last bit of sisterly bonding the two have as a result of Scoots' teasing RD.
I was going to say this on the story itself, but then I checked through your blogs and found this explanation, so I decided to put it here.
I feel it would have been better to just have the closed ending version be a second chapter, just labeled as such, rather than make it a Google Doc.
