Ultimate Irony in the history of TV.

The memes were probably just made as a joke, but people who were curious about the memes inspected the show, and genuinely enjoyed it, and the cycle continued with new pony memes making more people curious, and so the herd grew.

What if the first few memes were started by a group of haters? They may have been like "Another My Little Pony show?! Are you kidding me/us? Doesn't Hasbro know when to stop? (No.) I shall make some memes to show how ridiculous this is getting."
I am unsure if this is how it happened, but it would be incredibly ironic if it did.
