The reason I write is because I want to read a story written for myself. One day, I want to read one of my own stories and say to myself "That is the best story I have ever read."

    Merry Christmas

So to start off, I wish a heartfelt and sincere Merry Christmas to everybody, or Happy Holidays for those who do not celebrate.

Of course, I know that the feeling of needing to be happy at this time is quite taxing. I see it a lot in my day job doing social work. To those, I do wish that at least your hardships be soothed for a short period of time.

Bronycan Round 2, Days 2 and 3, and How Long Are you Guys Willing to Wait for a Seaquel? · 7:07am Aug 24th, 2015

For some random reason my keyboard on my laptop stopped working leading me to promptly do a stupid page refresh without realizing Ctrl+C doesn't work and now I have to rewrite all of this... They really need a save function for these blogs like Spacebattles forums.

Anyway on to the journal.

IF TL;DR There's an important PC:TCQ related question I have to ask at the bottom.

Day 2 of Bronycan started with me waking up decently late and getting to the place at 10:30am with my car (I had bought a parking pass instead of taking public transit like on the first day). I then attended the Pony Jeopardy Panel.

Now, don't kill me with pitchforks, but... *runs* I don't know much about jeopardy.

*looks around*

Are they gone Alternia?

"They are gone, vren55," says Chrysalis.

"Ah, thank you, Chrysalis Plushie!"

"CHRYSALIS?!!!!!!!!!"

...

"Well do continue, vren55. I'm listening," says Chrysalis.

*swallows*

Alright. I suppose. Basically the Jeopardy Panel was essentially Jeopardy with MLP. Questions ranged from hard, to very hard, to "do you enjoy suffering?" and several audience members (victims) were called up to participate. That being said, the ones who won were freaking genius at trivia, answering even questions on fan content! Best thing about the panel though were whispering possible answers with two friends I went to the con with, one of which I met/connected with because he was a fan of PC:TCQ.

After I finished at Jeopardy, I went on the Horse Play Panel. Basically, Pony Improv. Here I ran into GaryOak and soundslikeponies

Can't remember what exactly happened in that panel apart from a lot of laughing at people making a fool of themselves, but what happened when I came up to improv... well I remember that quite well.

Prompt: Rarity (me) is selling AJ (another audience member) a machine to help her applebuck.

Problem, is that this game... well the AJ actor and myself, can't make our own sound effects. Instead, we each get another audience member to help make our sound effects. Particularly important for me because I have the machine.

Thing is though, my voice effect audience member.... she as a little girl... who made very soft voice effects.

Which made the whole situation utterly hilarious as I tried to mime a big machine like Flim and Flam's Super Cider Squeezy 2000, but i got soft voice effects... leading to moments like this:

*cranking like a bau5*

"vrm."

...

To make things more complicated. The panel mode came in as Granny smith with a rusty shotgun that kept going off and then there was a random pig and rabbit stampede.

Long story short, I started squealing, and crashed my machine. It went flying into the distance and landed in a glorious fireball, and a soft...

"psoomf."

XD

The mod to wrap the panel up, started a question/question game, splitting the audience in two. Objective was for one team to eliminate the other in short 1v1 matches where the person who can continuously reply to questions with questions.

Eg. Player 1 asks: When was the fire of 1984.
Player 2 MUST ask a question in reply, and not state: 1984.

Well I came up with the strategy of essentially answering said question with a statement, but then adding a clause to the end of that statement to turn it into a question.

Eg. vren55: What do you think of the rumors of Twilight and Celestia being lovers?
Opponent: Why do you ask?
vren55: I'm curious, and don't you think it would be utterly scandalous?

I was eliminated in my second face off though. I apparently had taken too long.

However, I learnt later from the Panel Mod that I had been doing a bit too well. He had realized that the way I was doing it, I would have won hands down! Which wouldn't be good for the panel.

TROLOLOLOLOLOLOL

I must really have a way with words ;)

Anyway after Horseplay, I took an hour break to visit the game room and play some Super Smash Bros against another friend from the States I made at the con. I won two games, with Zelda and Zero-Suit Samus respectively, but lost the last one with Ike.

After that, I hit the Brony Feud panel, and before you ask, I had very little idea about how the whole Family Feud thing works because I never really watched an episode.

"Oh come on!"

Chrysalis plushie: "You deserved that vren55."

"WHY ARE YOU TALKING!!!"

Chrysalis plushie: "You've gone crazy due to pony?"

*I nod fervently and turn back to my comp.*

Yeah. Anyway, I'm not going to explain the rules (just google) but basically we had to guess how people on reddit answered certain questions... However, my team lost, and it has led me to one conclusion.

People on reddit, are just weird.

Chrysalis: "Or perhaps its just you that is weird."

Stop talking Chrysalis! Anyway, I did manage to win a few small prizes for my trouble.

A beanie bag pony I believe is named: Sweetie Blue. Apparently she loves Sweet Treats... Nobody knows of her, especially myself... so I might have to rectify that... I mean... just look at her!

SHE'S SO CUUUTE!

I also won some sort of CCG card? No idea. Looks nice though! And Rarity is always fantastic :raritystarry:

I then hung in the Games Room, bumping into those two friends again as well as Auburn Arc. Twas there that I ordered some special art for Princess Celestia: The Changeling Queen's Seaquel from one of those friends who is an artist (sea-quel, over the sea, sequel, geddit? I mean I've been joking about this for ages).

I would refer you to her, she draws some good stuff, mostly Steven Universe art, but she doesn't have deviantart... :P

Anyway, in the games room, we killed time by playing Connect4 pony. Which I'm terrible at by the way.

"You are a terrible person vren55," says Chrysalis plushie, perched on my lap.

*gives up trying to explain this plushie talking*

"Of course!"

Well I and Auburn Arc went to the VA panel, which was fantastic. They're just really good people these VAs XD. I'll post video when I get the chance.

After VA panel, me and the three new amigos (friends) went out for Panago's pizza, brought it back, and sat down in fact in a panel room briefly where we ate and chatted. Which was fun.

When we did finish our pizza, we headed up to the Games room to check on when the Karaoke competition (which two of us (including myself) had signed up for) would start. There we found out it would only start about half an hour later, so we four people decided to kill time until the Karaoke and were joined by another random brony who introduced us to one of the card games available in the room called:

Words fail me. I really don't know how to describe this card game. Basically, skill ain't an issue. You can win almost as easily as you can lose, no matter how good you are. It is fun, but so ridiculous.

Anyway, after we finished killing time, we hit the Karaoke, and our group split. While Auburn and one of my friends went to the "Hot Pepper Panel," me and the girl in our band started Karaoke battling.

Thing is, I'm pretty good at singing.

Problem, my opponent was better, if not the same level as I was, and I had terrible luck when it came to randomizing songs.

First song, I won with:

I re-rolled after machine hit Crystal Empire, but that meant my opponent could choose whatever song. He chose

I NARROWLY lost in this by 10 points (typical points go to 8000s).

The third song was:

Which I didn't mind, but I wasn't good enough, and I lost :P

I stuck around for a little while, but then decided to go home. It was getting late.

That was Bronycan Round 2 Day 2... which was just really run. Thing was though, I still had one more day XD

Day 3

When Day 3 hit, I began with going to church and confession because well, I'm a practicing Catholic, and since God the Big man gave me a great two days, I should give him his due.

Anyway after that, I got to con, and played Twilight Sparkle's Secret Shipfic Folder for an hour with Auburn Arc and a few others who joined in including my two friends from yesterday.

Some example cards:

Yeaeaaahhhhh..... Shipping...

But anyway that was followed by the VIPS Play Mariokart event where I watched Vincent Tong (Flash Sentry), Michelle Creber (Applebloom) Black Gryph0n, Peter New (Big Macintosh), play Mariokart, with Immatoonlink Commentating.

It, was hilarious.

I will say, Michelle Creber has the maddest Mariokart skills I've ever seen considering she used a WII REMOTE IN THE WHEEL MODE NOT THE NUNCHUK MODE AND WAS BEST OUT OF THE VOICE ACTORS IN ALL GRAND PRIXS!!!!4

Did I mention one of the Grand Prix was a 200 CC one?

"Nope," said Chrysalis.

She's right, I didn't. But moving along, we went to the Designing Equestria with DHX panel and listened to the artists talk about designing Equestria. We met Rebecca Dart, Kora Kosicka, Fernanda Ribeiro. Ms. Dart designed Chrysalis, and Ms. Kosicka designed many Griffons in the recent Griffonstone episode :D

Oh and they informed us that they were working on MLP season 6 and the 2017 Feature Film. No details though, still...

OH YEAH XD

Finally, after the VA panel, we went to the Closing Ceremonies, saw a short skit, and finally the con ended.

Well for most people, I parted with my two local friends, and joined Auburn, GaryOak, and two of Gary's friends at Whitespot where we ate a nice hearty dinner with good service, before parting ways.

And that was my weekend at Bronycan. A hell of a good weekend, thanks to great people, great friends, and a great con staff. I will definitely come back next year, particularly since it seems I've earned my spot on the next Writers Panel :D.

I really did a squee when I learned that from Gary XD.

That's all folks! I'll end with some last photos of some con stuff.

One of the Bronycan Mascots, Princess Poutine

My Passport to Bronycan XD:

Anyway, for the PC:TCQ related question. How long are you guys willing to wait for a seaquel?

Thing is, we got a few of chapters ready, not totally pre-read, but ready. However, coverart is nowhere near ready, and I really want to wait for coverart before publishing, but I would like to get an idea of how hyped up you readers are for the seaquel because it's something really nagging me and my pre-readers.

Sincerely,
vren55

Intensifying intensifies!

Take as long as you need. The prospect of the next story does pique my interest, but it's not my addictive drug. I've got plenty of other things that can keep me busy in the meantime.

I dont mind a wait, if it helps get everything out in a timely manner.

Someday, I will go to this.
....
....
Someday....

Anyway, I can safely say I am indeed looking forward to the seaquel. Wait, I can't swim. :pinkiegasp:
You'll be fine, ya big baby. It's only a book.
I know it- STARLIGHT! *Falls off chair from sheer shock of seeing an animated pony*
....yes?
*Gets back on chair* What the buck?
Don't question it.
Agreed. Anyway, I do look forward to the seaquel. And you, go back to your book.
But I'm bored!
*Facepalm* This is what I get for self-inserting. A pony that acts EXACLY how I do.
Hey, you got what you wished for.
True. Damn it, now I've lost track of what I was saying. Where was I? Oh, yeah. I'm glad to hear that a least a chapter or two has already been written, and they're either pending proofreading or already have been proofread. It's all good to hear. I just hope that there won't be such large periods of time between updates to the story this time! Princess Celestia: The Changeling Queen was excellent overall, so my expectations for this seaquel are pretty high, higher than average, at least. Regardless, I really do look forward to the chance to read it, once it's released.

Well, I'm certainly waiting with baitedew! bated breath. *vibrates* :pinkiecrazy:

I am willing to wait for a bit... a bit ... SO YOU BETTER PAY IF YOU DON'T WANT ME TO COME AND BURN THE WHOLE CASTLE ! :pinkiecrazy:
Just kidding.... mostly.
Take your time , I will be waiting around here patiently , watching you waiting for your coverart while you wonder if you already took too long or not. :pinkiecrazy: (We really need a Chrysalis emote... )

You like TSSSF? I like TSSSF! Guess what, there's a build-your-own card creator!

A fake vren55 card.

You should totally do it. :raritywink: :pinkiehappy:

I'm back, readas.

Dammit, I want to hear toonlink.

I also won some sort of CCG card? No idea. Looks nice though! And Rarity is always fantastic :raritystarry:

Ah, yes! The MLP card game! just found out about it today!
Also, cult leader Fluttershy.(I'm thinking FIW?)

First of all, glad you had a good time dude, wish I could go to cons but they're not as common or advertised in the UK... sometimes I think this country just hates fans of things.:fluttershysad:

Second, nice job driving him round the bend Chryisalis, that's why your one of my favs. Here, have a cake, all chocolate with a extra large dose of love, courtesy of myself and Princess Cadenza.

Third, I can wait dude, I've got quite a few other stories to tide me over for now so no need to rush it, take your time, use your waiting for the cover art to double check everything, and we'll see it when we see it.
