Letters arc complete and posting Monday with Chapter 10 of The Knight, The Fey Maiden, and the Bridge Troll too

I have up to Chapter 99 complete in Letters From a Little Princess Monster, which is a little embarrassing since I *started* the arc in the middle of Covid season. It could have graduated from several universities in that time. Rather than tease bits out of it like I have before, I'm just going to go straight into my daily publishing routine and let you catch up on where I am on The Knight, The

Sun will be down for maintenance on Monday. Sorry for the inconvenience. --NASA

Here's a story by Estee you can read to take up the time until the Sun is all tuned up and returned to operation.

EA Total Eclipse Of The Fun
The second anniversary of the Return is approaching, and all Luna wants for the celebration is one thing -- something Equestria hasn't seen in more than a thousand years. This could be a problem.

    Big Leather Egg Sunday

A reminder (as John Cleese put it) that today is Big Leather Egg Sunday, and to celebrate, I'm linking the Best Football MLP story of all time by Kris Overstreet. Starring... Rarity?

    Goodbye Toby Keith, American Legend

Undoubtedly, if Toby Keith had ever done a tour in Equestria, Applejack would have been right there in the front row, whoopin' and a hollerin' as loud as possible. I think every high school in the US had a proud friendly guy like this, and we raise our red Solo cups in tribute to his last beer run. Salute!

New Year 2024- New Projects 1939

Still working on everything else this year, but I've got a sequel/prequel to Equestria: 1940 in the works, both a series of short stories set in the 1940 world up to the Equestrian moon project, and a war story showing some behind the scenes details about the war. For a little country the size of Ohio in the northern Atlantic, it has a lot of potential. Explosive, mostly. Snippets after the

Seaponies. Now with 100% less Shoo-bee-doo. Lazy author seeks pre-readers. · 3:23am Aug 24th, 2015

Subject says it all. I've got a seapony romance (Hey! Stop thinking that! It's G rated!) that I'd like to start publishing next Saturday, but it most probably needs some critical looking and pointing to fix some of my more dumb mistakes. I've only got little dribs and drabs of time over the next week (this weekend, I managed to get online for a half-hour, and this is it) so I thought I'd metaphorically cast my line into the lagoon and see what bites. Drop me a line if you'd like to sign up and I'll send you a Gdocs link.

Oh, and as proof that it's done except for the publication, I give you the Fimfiction pending page:

The big problem I hit was getting the picture into the cover. I had to convert it from PNG to JPG in order to import correctly. Thanks to PhoenixSwift for the awesome artwork. Many well-deserved kudos go there.

That looks like it should be fun.

This sounds adorable. I'd offer to pre-read but it has been ages since I've really done that for someone and I'm afraid I'm rusty.

How dare you ask other people!

Saturday you say? Hmm...

I could give it a shot.

This story looks like it'll be fun, and I love the artwork.

I've been more of a red-pen slash-and-burn kind of editor for a few people, rather than a pre-reader, but I do have a fairly sharp eye when I'm not reading for pure enjoyment. If you find yourself short of volunteers (doubtful), drop me an IM. I'll be happy to help as I can, and I'd have no trouble going over the story a few times before Saturday.

I've found that uploading cover images never works on the first try. :B

3343176 Well, after about the 37th time trying to upload the .PNG file, I thought "What if I just converted it to a normal .JPG?"

Worked first time, therefore I suspect something in the PNG converter just didn't like this particular file.

I'll try and give it another read through tonight or tomorrow night.

I might find a moment, though I am currently kept busy with the prereading of some 'lings. but if you got a few days, then sure.

Interesting.
The new cover uploader is a really bizarre thing, really. I remember I gave it an image, and as default suggested size it showed it would cut a piece off all four sides. I don't even know why, because when I just changed that and pulled it out to cover the full image, it accepted that full image without any problems. So why does it even suggest that? If I wanted to cut the borders off my cover, I'd have done it in Gimp myself! :facehoof:

I mean, if it was too big, well, it should just fricking resize it after I upload it. But not crop it. Heck, that crop suggestion barely even changed the aspect ratio, so I'm fairly sure that wasn't the reason either...

I would absolutely love to help, as it's been a while since I did any pre-reading and I'm itching to get back, but I just have too much on my plate right now. I look forward to reading it in due course though!

3343769 Next time you give it a cover to upload, convert the picture to a .jpg first and see if that makes a difference.

But I don't WANT jpeg covers. The only thing worse than jpeg is jpeg that is then reprocessed and saved as jpeg again, and that would be exactly what fimfic would do if my input is jpeg.

Ugly, ugly jpeg.
