Probably no pony will care, but I've been having a difficult time choosing a form of magical creature to use in a story.
It needs to be a swarm of something, but I don't want to use parasprites. I want it to be tiny but possibly sentient or with some sentience, and definitely something that can be destructive.
So far I only have
-salamanders (the magical kind that can burst into flames, bad for pony properties)
-Bowtruckles (a creature from Harry Potter, but one that lives in trees and can gouge out eyes with it's needle-sharp fingers)
If anyone sees this and has any suggestions, I'd very much appreciate it. :)
