Introducing My OC and a Special Announcement · 5:22am Aug 15th, 2015
Greetings my Brony Brethren!
A blog from Bad_Seed_72 introducing her followers to her OC reminded that I needed to do the same. You’ve probably already noticed that I changed my profile a few months ago. I’ve needed to do this introduction for a long time. Better late than never, am I right?
So, without further ado, here is the long overdue introduction to my OC Scarlet Snow.
Scarlet Snow is an associate professor of thaumaturgy at Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns. He’s also a graduate of Celestia’s School. He graduated a few years before Twilight Sparkle did so he was familiar with her. (Perhaps he was even friendly with Twilight’s old Canterlot friends.) He’s considered a prodigy because he is the youngest pony to become an associate professor at Celestia’s School. He is the foremost expert on the Summa Thaumaturgica, a compendium of magic written by Tantum Ergo, a student of Clover the Clever.
So, that’s basically what I have for now. Just a few other behind the scenes things. My profile pic was a commission by the incomparable InkRose98. His skewbald coat is because I’ve always been fond of skewbald coats. His name is inspired by the Bible (Isaiah 1:18). His glasses and hair are inspired by Harry Potter. He will be making an appearance in an upcoming story I’m writing… Probably.
That’s all for now when it comes to my OC. And now for the special announcement.
Do you enjoy reading the inane things I have to say about My Little Pony? Well as shocking as it may be, I have inane things to say about things that aren’t MLP. It’s been my policy to only discuss MLP in my blogs here because this is a MLP fanfiction/fan site. But still, I wanted to have the chance to discuss those other things I’m interested in. I have now found a way to do that.
I have started a blog on LiveJournal. You can find it here at mariusioannesp.livejournal.com.
My first blog is an analysis/review of the Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants and the themes it seems to suspiciously share with Once Upon A Time and Disney’s most recent fairy tale films.
After that, I’ll probably write some blogs about Once Upon A Time. You know, headcanons and stuff. I will definitely blog about my thoughts on Frozen. You’ll finally get to hear that. Then after that, well anything is possible.
Expect the unexpected!

Descendants wasn't that bad in my opinion. It's definitely worth watching when you're a Once Upon A Time fan.

Pretty much. I don't want to give away any spoilers in case you decide to ever check the books or show out but the quote "You know nothing, Jon Snow" is a popular phrase.
I enjoyed reading your review of Descendants. It sounds like a film that I'd like to see at least once. I might as well then give the related show a chance as well. As you said, the standards of cartoons have seemed to really go up in recent years. We hit a slump several times throughout the 2000's but ever since the 2010's started the animation world has pumped out one great show after the other. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Dan Vs., Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, The Legend of Korra, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Littlest Pet Shop, etc.
Speaking of upcoming Disney shows, I'm also interested in checking out The Lion Guard. The Lion King is one of my favorite Disney films and The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride is easily the best direct-to-DVD Disney sequel in my opinion. And Kiara's showing up in the new show...but not Kovu for some reason.
