what I don't get is that in the last movie it has a completely different plot and human characters.

I prefer the original story where Primus was the creator of not only the planet but the ENTIRE cybertronian race and fans speculate that sam and the other characters from the first three movers were probably relocated after the Chicago incident while others say they were "Dealt with"
