    TerraForming: Day 7

Wrote ~2500 words, completed a chapter, but I'm not completely happy about it. I'm going to take another day to figure out why it makes me unhappy. I lost about 800 words to a stupid mistake on my part and the chapter diverged slightly from what I had originally written, so my unhappiness probably lies there.

    TerraForming: Day 6

I went to a baseball game which lasted far longer than it had any right to, so I wasn't able to write anything today. As per my promise, I'll spend tomorrow updating a story. However, in order to appease the gods, I've dug into my plethora of unfinished stories and found one to share for those who wish to read it.

    Terraforming: Day 5

I've got an hour and a half to write this out. Would have started earlier, but Critical Role streams on Thursdays and I am a sucker for Dungeons and Dragons.

    Prompt: Firsts (suggested by Auramane)

    Terraforming: Day 3

No short story today, but I managed to write 1300 words of a new chapter, so I hope to update in another day or two. Just an update to keep track of what I'm doing. I don't know. Ask me something if you want. Or don't. Seriously, why are you even reading this, it's barely 50 words long.

Terraforming: Day 4 · 4:47am Aug 13th, 2015

Wrote 2,138 words, updated Academy.

Let it be known that when I first joined Fimfic two and a half years ago, I thought that I would be writing more stories like Academy. As you've probably gathered by now, I don't really do that. Somewhere between Allegrezza (which was the first pone fic I remember reading) and University Days I decided to write Romance and, more specifically, OctaScratch fics. I don't regret doing this because OctaScratch is fantastic, but Fantasy/Adventure stories are still my favorite genre. In fact, the first story I ever published (I never wrote fanfiction before pones) Shadow and Crystal was an Adventure, but my writing at the time was not able to do my ideas justice and I struck it from the shelves in order to focus on Syncopation (which had, like, 15 views at the time). Maybe one day I'll go back and reattempt Shadow and Crystal and rewrite some of the earlier chapters of Syncopation, but that's not really my focus at the moment.

Did I become a member of 'the OctaScratch guy' group after Syncopation? I think so, but that's kind of cool even if I'm not quite up there with DawnFade and psp7master and the like. Even so, 700 odd followers, most of which were gained through one OctaScratch fic or another, is nothing to scoff at and gives me something of a starting block for my other works. Some of you are here because you like the way I write the OTP and you're awesome. Some of you are here because you like the way I write my stories, and you're the best.

I'm feeling up for a short story tomorrow, so please leave prompts in the comments if the mood strikes you (though prompts left on previous Terraforming posts are still up for grabs).

Have some fan service:

What about a story where Rainbow Dash gets fired from her job and has to go job hunting?

*nose scrunch* Honestly, psp7master isn't really one of the "octascratch guys" if you ask me. He's pretty obscure and I only found him by chance almost a year ago. Dawnfade, Avensis (author of Allegrezza), Errant, Dennis the Menace, (and you, of course) are the ones I'd call "The Octascratch guys."

Just writing lots of VinylxOctavia doesn't really make you one of them in my book. Writing one which is exceptionally well done and just as well known is what I'd consider making you "one of them." All he's done is writing a bunch of... Mediocre isn't quite the right word, it's a bit too strong (but you get my meaning) stories. He was really a fan of the "stream of consciousness" style, and while it's impressive to be able to write like that I don't think it suits the crowd here on Fimfic (if it did he would be much higher on the list of known TaviScratch authors). Doesn't help that he preached about people being "spoiled" by modern literature and that was the reason so many apparently didn't like the style... But that's another matter entirely.

To end this small tirade: I would definitely call you one of the TaviScratch guys. You've written a ton of them, and almost all of them (if not _all_ of them) have been very well received. So... yeah. You're one of them

Woo, new Academy chapter. Will be getting to that later today. As for prompt things, here's the ones I said on a previous blog again.
