Progress Report · 10:43pm Aug 12th, 2015

Ugh, I haven't started on Chapter 9 of A World, Reflected yet. I know what needs to happen and why, but I literally don't know where to begin - there's a bit at Jackie's/Weird Bipedal AJ's that I want to work in in addition to the meeting with the Pank One. ...Actually, just writing about it has given me an idea. I love you, rubber duck debugging buddies!

I have also been steadily making progress on both of my fangame projects: first, the Ahlogis Fan-Block for Magic the Gathering, which I'll eventually introduce via a fanfic called Untrotted Realms (complete with design posts from lead designer Rose Perfume and lore lead Tale Spinner!); and second and even more exciting my Apocalypse World-powered game of magical ponies on high adventures called All The Pretty Little Horses, the master post of which is here.

Regarding ATPLH, I've just finished the Champion of Justice, and made a first pass at the Champion of Hope. It wasn't gelling until I realized most of her Friends Back Home powers would better represent Patience - they're deeply troubled people who rely on the Champion of (Patience) to get their lives back on track. :fluttershysad: On the other hand, I now have a power with the rules text "On a (critical hit), you have just the thing you needed stashed away in case of that-thing emergencies," and Hope is keeping it to keep in line with her array of 11th-hour superpower weirdness. :pinkiecrazy:

Finally, have a teaser from the Sugarverse, a nursery rhyme that Applejack sings to Applebloom and that makes both Lyra and Celestia wince whenever they hear it:

Seven little students swimmin' in the sticks,
One fell in a shadow and then there were six!

Six lil' students, glad to be alive
One of 'em married 'er love and then there were five!

Five little students, doin' all their chores,
One ran off, said it weren't fair, and then there were four.

Four little students, 'gainst the sirens in the sea,
One of them got mighty mad and then there were three,

Three little students, playing for the roost,
One sought fame and fortune and that left them a deuce:

Two little students, knew that a crime was done,
One went off to help the victim, then there was one,

One little student, to save the other six,
So they could live in Harmony across from the sticks.

It's a first draft and I intend there to be a different, older version, but there you go.

Rubber duck debugging, huh? Didn't know there was a term for that kind of thing. Heck, that's how I figure out most of my stories, though in my case, it's more "empty space outlining."

And if you need more help with Ahlogis Block, I'm always available for horse cards.
