Pokemon still holds the lead with 99,314 images. 1,341 new explicit images were added during July.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is in second place with 75,542 images. 1,517 new explicit images were added during July.
Touhou is in third place with 60,083 images. 709 new explicit images were added during July.
DC Comics is in fourth place with 26,935 images. 317 new explicit images were added during July.
Street Fighter is in fifth place with 21,561 images. 126 new explicit images were added during July.
Naruto is in sixth place with 21,358 images. 246 new explicit images were added during July.
Marvel Comics is in seventh place with 20,852 images. 383 new explicit images were added during July.
Sonic Team is in eighth place with 20,350 images. 163 new explicit images were added during July.

While My Little Pony wasn't able to tie its previous best quarter, (December 2013 to February 2014), it still made a respectable showing. What else would you expect from the longest running series based on a toy?
Now that we've gone over the monthly update for the top ten porn producers, it's time to analyze the latest data regarding Rule 34 images for the mane six.
As of August 10, 2015, here's the state of Rule 34 for the mane six, according to Rule34.paheal.net:
Twilight Sparkle
has 11,089 images. 242 explicit images were added during July.
Rainbow Dash
has 8,946 images. 117 explicit images were added during July.
Fluttershy
has 8,878 images. 179 explicit images were added during July.

Before I get to the main topic of this month, I would be remiss if I failed to acknowledge that Pornhub recently reported on brony search results.
While this may not come as a surprise to those who follow my blog, there are a fair number of people out there who are still shocked by the sheer scope of pony porn.
Quoting from the Askmen.com article:
"According to PornHub's findings men are more likely to be Cloppers than women and are, on average, between 18 and 24. Just to clarify something, as I didn't realize this myself, MLP porn involves real human women dressed as ponies. It's not cartoons having sex with each other, although I'm sure this exists as well."
While porn of human women dressed as ponies certainly exists, it's a drop in the bucket compared to the ocean of explicit equine imagery.
The study found that most searches for pony porn come from the U.S. or the U.K., but, there are surprisingly enthusiastic communities in Belarus, Russia and the Ukraine. MLP porn is 462% more likely to be searched for in Belarus than anywhere else in the world.

And speaking of porn, a recent article in the U.K. Daily Mail revealed some surprising secrets about the adult film industry. For example, most actors who perform in gay porn are straight. Women usually fake their climaxes on camera. (Although I think most everyone knew that already.) There's also a gender pay gap in the porn industry, but it swings the other way. In some instances, women could make as much as five times what men make in the adult film industry. Sort of puts the whole "seventy-five cents for every dollar" thing into perspective, doesn't it? Can you imagine if men in the workforce were making five dollars for every dollar women made? That's what's happening in the adult film industry, only the female porn stars are coming out on top. Other interesting insights include the revelation that a majority of porn is unscripted, with the actors ad libbing their lines.
Enough stalling! Let's get to the main topic for this month!
Just before I published the July 2015 Rule 34 update, it was discovered that Jared Fogle, who has been the spokesman for Subway for 15 years, is at the center of a child pornography scandal.
Jared has played a big role in transforming Subway's public image since his first commercial aired in 1998. Subway's sales more than tripled during the 15 years he was their chief pitchman, rising from $3.1 billion in 1998 to $11.9 billion in 2014, according to Technomic. Subway also consistently occupies the #1 spot in the YouGov Brandindex survey, which measured 24.9 in 2014. Jared's been in over 300 Subway commercials and his net worth is estimated at more than $15 million, according to CelebrityNetWorth.com. He made an undisclosed amount of money from Subway, along with $5,000 to $10,000 for personal appearances outside of the company, according to USA Today.
Jared is Jewish and had his bar mitzvah in Israel. His father, Norman Fogle, is a doctor and his mother, Adrienne Fogle, is a teacher. When Jared first started his Subway diet, his father was skeptical and had Jared come in every few months for a physical to make sure his health was fine. Dr. Norman Fogle is on the board of trustees of The Jared Foundation, which helps fight childhood obesity. Jared has made hundreds of school visits on behalf of his foundation. Promoted as "The Subway Guy," he spoke to students about the need for a healthy diet and exercise, and he sometimes gave away Subway products.
The sordid secrets behind the Subway spokesman came to light once authorities began to investigate Russell Taylor, the executive director of the Jared Foundation.
From 2004 to 2007, Taylor worked as a youth market director at the American Heart Association of Indiana. He worked with school administrators and teachers to organize school-based events. Taylor voluntarily left his job with the association in 2007, the year he was hired to head the Jared Foundation. Jared first became familiar with Taylor through Taylor's work at the American Heart Association. Taylor was the Indianapolis-based foundation's only paid employee, earning about $40,000 a year, according to federal tax documents.
Federal authorities accused Taylor of producing and possessing child pornography. The investigation began after a woman claimed that Taylor had approached her about the possibility of having a sex party with her horse. Sex with a horse?! I didn't realize Taylor was a brony!
Referred to only as "Jane Doe" in the official police report, the woman stated that Taylor asked if he and another adult female could come to Jane Doe's residence and engage in sexual activity with a horse. While Jane Doe insists that she did not let Taylor or his friend near the horse, she claims that didn't stop the 44-year-old from sending her phone disturbing videos of bestial sex acts.
After interviewing Jane Doe and examining the contents of text messages and images on her phone, the investigators obtained a warrant to search Taylor's residence in Indianapolis.
"The purpose of the search," the affidavit said, "was to look for evidence of bestiality, including images or videos."
The probe, which took place April 29th, did not turn up images of bestiality, according to the affidavit, but did reveal a shocking amount of child pornography. The images were of boys and girls, some as young as 9, including several videos that appeared to have been made at Taylor's current and former homes. There is no indication that any of the victims were involved with the Jared Foundation.
The videos in question included separate images of three young girls, between the ages of 11 and 16, in a bathroom. The girls were nude, the affidavit said. Another video depicted a young boy in the bathroom, also nude. There were other videos of some of the same children nude in a bedroom.
When detectives interviewed Taylor, he admitted to using a clock-radio containing a hidden camera to record activity in his homes. According to court documents, police reported recovering from computers and digital storage devices "over 500 videos," which were produced between September 2012 and January 2015. They also recovered text documents containing "stories about bestiality and incest."
"The content is consistent," the affidavit said, "with the purpose of the original investigation of bestiality and with a sexual interest and attraction to children."
At least a couple of the items seized by police, two thumb drives, appeared to have a link to Taylor's employer, according to the affidavit. One was found in the desk of the home office where Taylor did work for the Jared Foundation.
One drive, police said, contained "commercially made child pornography from Eastern Europe similar to that seized on other investigations" and another "document file with Taylor's employer listed in the file name."
Today, Taylor is in federal custody following a failed suicide attempt at the Marion County Jail just days after his arrest. After Taylor's arrest, the Jared Foundation's telephone number was disconnected and its website was shut down. Its future status is unknown.
On July 7, law enforcement sources confirmed that Jared was a suspect in a child pornography investigation. The FBI, Indiana state police, and U.S. Postal Service conducted the raid on Jared’s home, located in Zionsville, Indiana. They took electronics, documents, and other items and analyzed them in an evidence van. The raid lasted from before sunrise on Tuesday, July 7 into the early evening.
While Jared Fogle and his former Jared Foundation business partner, Russell Taylor, are both accused of being involved with the production and possession of child pornography, new evidence suggests that there have been warning signs for years.
In 2008, Jared allegedly sent an explicit confessions about a paid encounter with a young teenage girl he met on Craigslist. The text messages were sent to a love interest who was also a Subway affiliate at the time.
The two briefly texted about the illicit meet-up before the franchisee decided to report the matter to Subway managers, who, she claims in an affidavit, declined to act on her warning that Jared Fogel “should not be interacting with young people.”
“Is this the same website you found that 16-year-old you that you f***ed?” one of the woman’s text messages read. “I still can’t believe you only paid $100 for her.”
Fogle then boasted: “It was amazing!!!!”
“What part of her ad made you think she was selling sex?” the woman texted back.
Fogle replied: “U will have to read them to see.”
The teen referenced in those text messages has not been identified yet. This is a recent development and we're still learning all the fact about how deeply Jared was involved with Taylor's illicit dealings.
If Fogle did have sex with a 16-year old girl, it would be legal in Indiana, where the age of consent is 16. However, if he has pictures or other images of a girl under the age of 18 in various stages of undress or other compromising situations, those still fall under child pornography laws. So, it's legal to have sex with a 16-year-old in Indiana, but it's illegal to record it in any fashion. The world is upside down! That's like making murder legal while banning snuff films!
I want to be real clear here. Especially with all the times I've discussed the subject in the past. I feel nothing but contempt for anyone who sexually exploits children. If Jared and Russell are guilty of possessing explicit depictions of children, then the former Subway spokesman and his foundation director should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. If Jared and Russell had stuck to porn of fictional characters, then maybe they wouldn't be in the mess they're in right now.
There are more than 40 images on Derpibooru where a Subway sandwich has been used to edit a suggestive image.
This news article about Jared Fogle "targeting children" is an unfortunate choice of words in hindsight.
Jared had a cameo in Sharknado 2.
He was supposed to be in Sharknado 3, but after news of the child pornography scandal broke, the SyFi channel edited his cameo out of the third Sharknado film.
The South Park episode Jared Has Aides, which originally aired in 2002, was strangely prophetic about the rise and fall of Jared Fogle's career as Subway pitchman. (I didn't edit this video, so I apologize in advance for the weird "Law and Order" sound effects.)
Jared turned his life around, only for it to spin out of control.
Bottom line: Don't hurt or exploit people. Be honest in your dealings with others.

Tangentially related to the topic: Derpibooru has tightened their foalcon rules, and is enforcing them with zero-tolerance.
