Con Report 2015 · 3:04am Aug 11th, 2015
So yeah: Bradel and I. It's a bromance. Don't judge.
Seriously, though - I had a great time at this year's BronyCon. Since returning after Bookplayer and I's 2013 attendence, my interest in the fandom has lessened a bit. It's not from a lack of love, but from my life becoming so damned full of awesome. First and foremost of this being the birth of the great and powerful Trixie. Coupled with being gone 50+ hours a week at my day job and a shit ton of freelance work I just felt like I haven't had the time for a whole lotta ponies.
My first duty at BronyCon 2015 was to be wingpony to Book. Basically, the con is the only thing she ever asks to do. Like seriously guys. She doesn't even want to leave the house 99% of the time. So asking to go to hang out with her friends and fellow writers once a year isn't exactly too much to ask, ya know? So, I spent a lot of my time meandering around w/ my little girl looking at awesome cosplayers or just sitting together giggling. Most of that time was pretty awesome - save for a melt down on Saturday that ran for almost six hours straight. Thank Celestia for Bradel's generosity, or I might have had to yell THIS NOT LIKE YAKCON, YAKS DESTROY! Fortunately, things didn't come to that.
Surprisingly enough, the third day I got to hang out with two dear friends of mine who are Baltimore locals and even got to participate in what may have been the crowning moment of glory in my life. Writing for the licensed Lord of the Rings tabletop RPG? Pssh. Being married to the most extraordinary woman on the face of the earth? Nope. Being father to an amazing, vibrant being who is joy incarnate with a cute lil smile? That's nothing. Getting to dress in a two-man "Crackle's Cousin" costume and wander around the con for a few hours sweating like a hooker at Confession? Yeah, that's definitely the apex of life.
In all seriousness, the highlight of the con was getting to hang out with my awesome daughter. Oh, and Bradel. He's so dreamy.
You're pretty dreamy yourself, bro.
Now if only I could get out of these damned airports and find a real internet connection...
3311116 You're still stuck at an airport? That's balls man.

Not stuck (though both my flights have wound up delayed). I had to buy stupid tickets to do this trip without spending a fortune. So I didn't leave Baltimore until 7:00pm or so, and I'm hanging out on the MSP plane waiting for it to finish boarding right now.
Not a lot of fun, but from experience I know it can be a lot worse than this.
