I'll be attending DragonCon in September and I decided to do a pony cosplay this time! My mom and I finally made some headway this weekend with my costume, and I thought I'd share. I'll be going as Sunset Shimmer.
I chose Sunset Shimmer for a couple reasons.
1. She's awesome.
2. Her clothes are simple to buy/make.3. I don't want to wear a wig and my hair's already dyed red from my Kyouko Sakura cosplay

I also used that person's tail tutorial, and they both came out great! The finished product isn't done yet; the wires haven't been cut because I'm still waffling on where I want them positioned.
And here's my progress on the cutie mark necklace:
Sketching out the sun design.
Colored it with pencil, choosing which nail polish to use.
Colored it with nail polish! Today I went over it with some glitter nail polish and a glossy top coat to make it super shiny, but I don't have a pic. I'll be pasting a print-out of the cutie mark to the back of this to get the sun flares.
Now the only major thing to do is to make the skirt!
