Update and a question. · 8:07pm Aug 10th, 2015
So I took a break from making ponies (current one is giving me brain pains) so I made a little something.
As for the question, anyone good at making or converting pictures over to pixels? I've been having issues finding decent pictures to use.
Hmm, what I've always done to make pixel sprites for video games I've made was to take a large picture and scale it down in paint.net using the resize tool. It's worked pretty well for me, and fiddling with the anti-aliasing settings can change the look of things if it doesn't come out right. I'm not sure how that'd work for vector art, but I think there's some way to scale it down easily without losing too much image quality.
3309948 I'll give that a try after I finish my current project of brain trauma. Large scale pictures are such a pain.
3309970 How big are we talking, and down to how small? Also what's the subject matter? I haven't done my little trick in a while, I should probably try it again sometime.
3309976 Anything I guess, so far we've been sticking to ponies and video game stuff, as you can see in the picture above the white mage's eye is 1 pixel which can give you an idea of size. The picture giving me problems is 87x53.
