Weird Chrome Issue · 7:44am Aug 10th, 2015
Anyone else been having this issue where chrome will not allow you to access Google, YouTube, Gmail, or other sites that Google actually owns? Like, I can access fimfiction just fine (who would've guessed?) but I can't get to my Drive to get any work done. I'm sure that it must be something on my end, but curiosity and foolish optimism will not allow me to not ask. Mind you, this has been persisting since this morning, and I've been itching to get some work done. Too bad I'm so stupid as to only have that one way to work, eh?
It's saying that the sites are sending back unusual and incorrect credentials, and that the site I'm trying to access is likely an attacker pretending to be Google. I've had this problem in the post, but I'll be damned if I can remember how or when I fixed it.
So, any help would be appreciated, and don't be afraid to call me an idiot and simply say "you're f*cked". I'm pretty much expecting it. Geez, I'm angry. I find it interesting how quickly my mood can be ruined from a partial technical failure. I'd be less angry if the whole effing thing burst into flames.
*sigh* That awkward moment when you solve your problem immediately after blogging about it... It was a simple fix, turns out my system date somehow got set to before the certificate renewed, and Chrome was reading it as if it was expired, which, technically, it was. All I had to do was correct the date, and boom! If only I had thought of this earlier...
good job now we all know another thing to check for
