Ha, New story. I didn't think I could make it. · 2:18am Aug 10th, 2015
I have competitive blood flowing through my veins and I managed to push this little fic out the gate before it hit twelve.
I'm feeling pretty awesome.
Some thought on Human Husbandry in no order.
-I wanted to write two chapters of Fluttershy following Ralph into the Everfree, interfering with his usual tactic of attacking anything that blinks at him funny. Then accepting a compromise to head to Whitetail Forest. Fluttershy hypes up Whitetail as being a true challenge to endure (because there are so many ponies that have fun there).
-The five places that Fluttershy drags Ralph while introducing him to her friends are kind of important (in retrospect with Ralph) but I skipped through them because I wanted to keep the momentum going.
-Probably should have wrote it in first person but I was writing another first-person story at the same time and I imagine the style bled into each other.
-Human Husbandry is an artifact title that I might play to its full strengths in the full story. Maybe not.
-I really wanted to write angst cuddles.
-I dig angst cuddles.
-I considered formatting the chapter with footnotes and sidebars with Ralph and Fluttershy talking in the margins. With foreshadows of later events and personal lovey-dovey things gushy couples like those two do. But it took too much work and I didn't feel like it. Some of it stayed in the finished work but others I took out because I didn't want to rely on a coloring/side bar gimmick. Might do it in the full fic though.
-Ralph R. Winston is an self-insert. He's a male version who often looks younger than he actually is. Kinda like me. I'm twenty but I look like a fourteen year old. Could play an extra in teen dramas if I wanted to. I'm very stiff in my feelings and quick to chase after 'adventures'. Ralph is me turned up to the eleven.
-The R in Ralph R. Winston stands for Reginald.
-I sound British or at least, very articulate if you ask people who know me in person.
-I come off as a girlish perverted boy than I do as a tomboyish silly girl (which I'm a mix of these days, I think), personality wise on other sites. Take that as you will.
