3 Years, Huh? · 11:21pm Aug 9th, 2015

As of last May, it has been 3 years since I published my first and only story to FiM. At the time I made it, I was going by the fact there were no clop stories featuring the "Twilicorn" and "Trixie" tags together. It had been plenty of time since Alicorn Twilight had been a thing, but I suppose there was lingering 'distaste' at the time. I know for a fact this is no longer the case today. Part of the reason, is because there is no longer a distinction of "Twilicorn," "Princess Twilight," or "Twilight Sparkle." All of the tags were reverted and merged into simply "Twilight Sparkle" some time ago, as it should be. However, I am kind of proud to have been one of the first to make the two tags appear side by side in a clop fic at the time.

Why do I speak about this?

Honestly, because I took a glance at the statistics for my 'story,' I use the term liberally here, and was kind of surprised. I never paid much attention to it after a couple days. I let it linger there, noticed a few random favorites, but never looked at the statistics. People apparently liked it, despite the poor grammar and tense usage. Despite the rather bland and uninspired sex scene, even, people 'thumbs upped' it a heck of a lot more than down. I hate to be critical, but in my mind I wonder about low standards here. :P

I've read many a fiction on here since I made that story. Some people write so beautifully, I think back to my own skills and it pains me that I inflicted something on the readers of this site. However, I will admit to learning in the process.

I have not made any more fics, nor have I ever promised to write more. Yet, for some reason people still pressed that follow button. To those of you who did, I commend your bravery, but still do not make any promises. I do have an idea or two floating around, but I have a lot of life keeping me occupied at the moment.

Really, I suppose all I want to say is.... Thanks. It's kind of humbling to know something I made is liked as much as it is. Even if I think it's a pile of garbage these days. :)

eeeeeeeeh no that actually really debatable. if we're talking about proper tagging, there is a difference, and there should be a distinction. some stories have Twilicorn, and some don't. the tags exist to assist the reader. they should be impartial to this crap.

you just answered your own thought. yeah, your story isn't very good, but there are absolutely tons of stories on here that are disgraces against literature. in comparison, yours stacks up pretty well, and i did enjoy it. it really gives the impression that you actually did put some thought into it and did not just have a seizure at your computer and decided to publish the result.

That's true on the first point. 'Tis what I get for writing in stream of consciousness mode on a spur of the moment situation. For legacy stories that might not be updated since the merger of the tags, I imagine having an old 'Unicorn Twilight' tag might be alright. However, that said, I think these days it is a minority situation(at least from what little I see) that can be solved by simply having 'Non-Alicorn Twilight' or something in the description and have it covered.

On the other point.. Well, seizure.. No. I was perfectly aware and in control of where I smashed my face into the keyboard every time! XD
