Some weird person who writes stories about ponies. You should probably just ignore him.

A Little Something for my 500 Subscribers

So I just hit 500 subscribers the other day. I've gotta say, the idea that 500 people said to themselves, "Hey, I think this guy has some neat writing. I think I'll follow him." is just awesome. So, to all of you, I want to say you all are the most awesome people on this planet, and I love every single one of you.
Seriously. I love all of you. Crack open the wine.

Time to Put Riffing to Rest

    Salutations, fair readers, RatherHomely here. Unfortunately, I received a message from the mod team concerning MPPT3K;

It has been brought to the attention of the administration/moderation team that you have continued to publish your anthology "Mystery Pinkie Pie Theatre 3000" due to it being "grandfathered" in.

I'm Back, Bitches! (My apologies for calling you all bitches.)

Ah, 2013. A glorious start to a new year, so full of potential, possibilities, a different word for potential, and fiscal cliffs.
    Is gonna be good.

    Hiatus

    Hello.
    ...
    Yes, hello.
I'm going on a hiatus for an unknown period of time.
Unfortunately, I just learned that my mother (who's been fighting cancer for the past four months) has about four to six weeks left before she passes on. Personally, I'd rather not waste time writing and instead spend these last few weeks with her.
    Thank you for understanding.

I Must Be Slowing Down in My Old Age · 9:20pm Jul 30th, 2012

I know as of late I've been a bit slow on updates. At least, I think I've been. It's certainly slower than the three riffs a week I used to do when first starting out (How did I even do that?). Life's been a bit... "draining" as of late. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say problems seem to compound and create a big weight that seems to be constantly resting atop one's shoulders. One of these things is that my mother, who's been fighting cancer for the past three months, has just told me the doctor's found spots on her lungs. I just... don't really feel funny right now.
I'm not going to stop writing. I could never just 'stop' writing. I'm just going to be writing less. The last thing I want to do is force myself to write unfunny riffs just so I can meet a self-imposed quota. That's not fair to all my readers. I'd rather write one good riff every two weeks than an awful one every other day.

On a separate note, I've been looking over my list of requests. As some readers have pointed out to me, some of these stories are particularly long and would take a million years to finish. "Hm," I said to myself. "My output rate is equivalent to shit as of right now. Perhaps I should get rid of some of these stories?" But that wouldn't be fair to the people who made those requests. So, I've decided to do something; I'm going to create a separate list on my page for the stories I consider to long for me to tackle. If you feel like submitting some guest riffs, but don't know what to do, these are totally up for grabs. I'll probably take care of this within the next week or so.

You know what's probably going to happen? At the start of summer, I say, "Oh, it's summer, I'm going to get a ton of writing done!" I don't. Now I'm saying, "Oh, I'm just going to take it easy... Not write much..." I guess that means I'm going to write like crazy. XD

Take as much time as you need Homely

Twenty is ancient!:rainbowlaugh:
Also, why do I get the feeling you're thinking slow as it applies to something besides update speed? :ajsmug:

That's probably a smart idea. No one person could possibly get so many stories done in any reasonable amount of time. Teamwork will add a lot of speed to this process.
Anyway, I might get involved in a guest riff, maybe, if I feel like it.

dude, sorry to hear about your mom. i am filled with sad ponies.

fight the good fight!

Man this is a cheezy thing to say (mmm... cheezy) but the herd is here for you; what with the poni poni poni and the ha ha ha and the riff riff riff and where's all the rum gone? Not goin anywhere even if you need to take more down time.

Me thinks RH should get himself a cane, amirite?

What you need is a guy with a whip commanding you to go faster.

I can hook you up with a driver with excellent qualifications.

I'm having the same trouble, I used to have tonz of ideas, but now it's getting ever so difficult to finish a chapter.
Hang in there man, we gotta show our laziness and our age who's the bawz :flutterrage:

It's fine if you don't get updates done fast. TAKE YOUR TIME. The more effort you put in your stories, the more it will be noticed. When you get time, just write! Be yourself! Use your imagination! Thanks.

Actually, me and a friend of mine is working on a riff. I just looked through your list, and apparently it's already on it.
We'll try and send it to you when we're done, and you can do whatever you wanna do with it, publish it, just read it for shits and giggles or just ignore it :derpytongue2:

Hydkore: This story... (shudders)
Glassed: Why did we ever think this was a good idea? (sobs)
Derpy: How did I get roped into this? (breaks down crying)
All: WHY DID WE DECIDE TO RIFF BALLOONS?!
-Glassed

Cancer? That sucks man.
