My money situation is tight and deadlines loom for the college catch-up game I've been dealing with. College and funding, those are my sole priorities right now.
So, I will not be doing any serious work on Composure for a few weeks. It's not a hiatus exactly, but know that my energy is focused elsewhere.
Duty calls, and I must answer.
If you want something new to read in my absence, I have a few recommendations based on stuff I've been working on with the authors. Both are 'for want of a nail' fics, a genre that asks "what if things were different?"where one change can lead to vast differences. I'm honestly surprised this sort of fic isn't more prevalent in the fandom, but both these fics are excellent examples of the genre done right.
Twilight, Revised is a 'Twilestia without Celestia' fic that revolves around Twilight losing to Nightmare Moon in the Ep2 battle and struggling under her brainwashing influence as her devotion to Celestia is torn instead to the Nightmare. It's only on the first chapter but I can assets that it's going fun places.
Divergence is a fic with a much broader scope, looking at the entirety of the main cast as their fledgling friendship fractures due to a perceived betrayal by Rainbow Dash, and the later consequences this has on Equestrian as Luna returns, not quite as expected. Seattle's got a great grasp of the characters and really knows how to ramp up emotion. Dark at times, but justified, I feel. Only problem is it's not Twilestia (give me time, I'm working on it...) Though it was written before Luna Eclipsed, Luna's character still holds as dark, mysterious and entirely opaque.
So yes, read, and enjoy (and comment!!). I might chime in with more recommendations, or possibly even some Twilestia doodles now and then, but from here on my priorities are on real life matters. Please don't pester me about when the next chapter is coming up - when I'm back to writing, I'll let you know.

That's...depressing. You know my opinion on Composure and you know how much I crave more, but you have to do the things you have to do. May your luck change for your sake and ours.

I used to do a re-read with every chapter update but now it's getting cumbersome. It's still fun to read it, don't get me wrong, but it now takes a goodly bit of time and I'm impatient enough as it is.

Fun fact #5: It was, in fact, written by device. If you've read the relevant stories and know the Tragic Tale Of Composure, The Endlessly Delayed it is hilarious. If you haven't read the relevant stories it's still funny but deliriously confusing.

My ultimate goal is to eclipse the wordcount of War and Peace with delicious will-they-won't-they Twilestia with such subtle nuance readers will have to read the entire book to refresh themselves every time I update.

You know, I'd written off the whole alternate-universe thing after "The Night that Never Ended", "A World Without Rainbows", and "Night's Favored Child" all sort of petered off, having fully introduced intriguing scenarios but lacking a direction to take them.
It's not twilestia eh?

Twilight, Revised I haven't gotten around to yet, but I will soon since the author tends to constantly fail spectacularly to live up to his name..
Divergence I actually don't like at all. It's written well enough but the premise is weak and many plot decisions feel too much like they are defined by the "darker and edgier" trope, going for audience impact via content rather than narrative.
"What if?" fics aren't THAT rare. Many are under the "Alternate Universe" label. BB's "Nightmares Don't Last Forever" and PotatoJoe's "Your Best Shot" are a couple other good ones.
The problem with many of these fics are that they rarely are handled via a random event and worldbuilding, but rather character corruption or just OOC characters.
