    Never A Dull Moment

Thank you all for helping me out back in May  The support means the world to me, and thanks to your kind contributions I was able to go and visit my boy in Britain. I'll try and mock up a proper recap blog—though I am notoriously terrible at doing those, I don't think I've ever managed a proper recap blog for any of the various conventions I've gone to over the years. I guess there was

Brony Dreams · 5:39pm Jul 30th, 2015

I rarely have pony dreams. I've had like, two over the course of my 3 years in the fandom and one of them was humanized. I do, however, have dreams concerning BRONIES in them with alarming regularity.

Tonight's dream happened in typical fashion; something inane happened for a little while, and then it morphed into something else entirely. This "other thing" was, in fact, me leaving a convention center after an unspecified event. Could have been a pony con, could have been something else. As I walked through the parking lot, I saw that there was one of those typical "brony" wallets laying on the ground, the one with the solid black Rainbow Dash with her mane colored (one of which I own). I picked it up, checked the ID, and pocketed it so I could return it later. I saw a backpack laying next to the car I was near, and I went to check that out too. As I leaned down, I heard an out of breath voice that could only belong to a man who was more fat than human whisper "I know how to defend myself, too", and huge flesh mitts grabbed me, and I was headbutted right in the forehead by this blob of a man, brony stereotype in every way, right down to the neckbeard. He threatened to call the police, even though I just told him I wanted to return his belongings. He was highly confrontational, although dream-me did sort of pester him by following him around and trying to apologize while he got more and more aggressive towards me. Eventually, I ended up getting tired of playing nice, so I pelted his car (which I later found out was his mom's, hue) with rocks.

Then a huge flood happened and the dream changed course again.

Anyway, I find it interesting how my subconscious doesn't let me slip away to the wonderful land of Equestria to snuggle ponies, but instead plays off of my fear of irrational, stereotypical bronies and makes me endure them during my nights.

Do you guys ever have pony dreams? Do you ever have BRONY dreams like these? Or do you just fall asleep and enjoy an endless voice, the true preparation for death?

My dreams normally involve me doing weird shit and then getting raped/murdered. No pony dreams, and no brony dreams (unless you count dreams with Kalash93).

Last Sunday I dreamt I was giving a Lyft ride to Protopony350.

I know I've had a few pony dreams in the past, I just don't remember them.

No. I have many pony dreams. Of AJ being there, telling me that everything will be okay anf that life will get better.

If not that, it's non-stop nightmares with a lot of horrifying things.

I barely remember what happened, but I had a dream that somehow pertained to the fanfic Forever Faithful. Not even the events of the fanfic, but the fanfic itself.

By the way, ever heard of lucid dreaming?

I had a dream about poines once. I was going through my regular everyday routines and there were ponies around for no reason. They didn't interact with anyone and no one even aknowloged they were there. Everyone acted like nothing was there including me

3282379 I have, one of my best friends has tried to get me into it. After two nights of sleep paralysis and horrifying hallucinations, I decided to take a break for a little while.

I dream about the fandom all the time. It's rarely pleasant, but I do remember one about neckbeard sumo wrestling that had me giggling like a twelve-year-old girl who just took the biggest hit of her life off the pipe as I slept. This was on an airplane, mind. I think I scared the shit out of the flight attendant, but it was Spirit Air, so I wasn't particularly broken up about it.

Come to think of it, I actually had one about you once. Well, you featured in it,at least. I recall this because, in the dream, I walked in on you diddling the shit out of Kurt Cobain, who turned out to be a wizard from a planet of furries. Then the Cobain-wizard and I went on adventures and prevented a school shooting with the power of rock. Couldn't make this shit up if I tried.

Hell if I know what it was trying to say beyond "don't smoke before bed for fuck's sake". The only real recurring theme I ever have in my dreams is a field of grass, bordered by physically impossible cliffs. Jumping off one of those is generally how I get started going lucid, which is fun until I wake up paralyzed. The brain is a weird damn thing, I suppose.

Never dreamed of ponies nor bronies. Had a Mystery Science Theatre 3000 dream a night or two ago, but that was because I fell asleep watching it.

Sometimes I have pony dreams. Three of them I published on fimfic a while back and some others are in the works (no spoilers). I do not have brony dreams, and I suspect that it's because I don't think about bronies as such all that often.

I've also had a dream recently where I was Princess Celestia. Specifically, the one from a particular Five Score sidefic that was actually entertaining to read. That dream was... bizarre. There were mental institutions and Discord and musically-inclined orcs (who wanted me to teach them more about making music, as if I'd know). I kept being told by the narrator that I saw orcs in particular (along with humans) as lesser beings and then ignoring the narrator and just acting and feeling like everyone's just people. (Also, Discord 'won', but it wasn't so bad.)

I recall one dream where I was with a fully humanized Applejack. We were at a dock, and were getting on a boat ride to the other side of a nearby bay. I specifically remember her sitting in front of me, tucked in an orange life vest, and then turning around and flashing a grin. Not much happened after that. Maybe this is the dream talking, but she looked exactly like how a humanized Applejack would look; like the world's best cosplayer but better.

That's a scene straight from my memoir "School of Cock". You can't fool me!

...The only pony dream I ever had ended with Twilight, Luna, and Flitter lying dead in a ditch with spiders in their eye sockets...

Been a while since I had one. Right now I'm stuck in "can't find a private place to have sex" dream territory. :B

This is what happens when you pass out watching Tenacious D movies with your weed-buddies. I swear it's true, though.

Nope. I rarely ever dream, now that I think about it. :applejackunsure:

I took a selfie with Lyra in a dream once.

Sleep paralysis has been the worst for me. It happens so often that my subconscious has figured out that if you hold very still and wait, the monster/scary intruder person/family member will go away (because when you're paralyzed and eventually fall back asleep, that is effectively what happens), thus making them a little bit less frightening.

Besides, my subconscious is apparently better at combining concepts in interesting new ways than I am. Nobody ever told it (effectively, anyway) that X and Y don't go together. It's better at running dreams in entertaining ways than I am (I've been receiving a lot of the milder nightmares as really interesting horror movies for over a decade now), so there's no reason for me to take over.

I guess lucid dreaming is just not for me. Although I've been aware enough of the concept that in some of my dreams, I convince people that they are dreaming, which is obvious because look, I'm floating.

X and Y don't go together

unless you're male :rainbowwild:

I had a dream where I was in my old high school art room, and there were a few ponies around. They weren't really doing anything and everyone ignored them, but that's the closest I've ever had to a pony dream.

Well, I had a kinda pony-related dream tonight (more exactly, Fallout: Equestria-related) with Christopher Lee chasing me through Stable 2 for some reason.

I kind of want to see a fic based on this... (also, it seems that Flitter at least died in a nice company).

4/5 dreams are nightmares for me

As far as I recall, I haven't had that many pony dreams since I joined the fandom in '11— maybe only two or three (at least that I remembered when I woke up). I don't recall having brony-specific dreams, but I've had dreams involving people that I know are bronies (and pegasisters, whatever term they want to use). However, one of the few pony dreams I did have that I actually remembered led me to write this story, which got way more attention than I expected it to. Someone even asked me about the specifics behind the actual dream, since I noted that the story strayed from it a bit. I have to admit, I was amazed it hit the Pop box.

I read a book called "What your dreams can teach you" by Alex Lukeman.
It says that in every dream our subconscious is trying to tell us something, like.. When we dream about people.. We aren't dreamjng ABOUT them, they're in our dream because something about them reminds of us of ourselves. Our subconscious has no reason to bring anyone else into the picture. Dreams are full of symbols, and you are supposed to anylize what you think they mean.
Ponies, to you, may be comforting, happy, cute, ect so your dream is using ponies perhaps symbolizing your feelings about them. The wallet is another one, maybe something financial, or something opening and closing in your life, the backpack is another one, and the apologies . Maybe you need to forgive yourself for something? Anyways it's a great book, highly recommended for vivid dreamers like you

3282622 if your dreams are nightmares, your subconscious is trying to get your attention about something! Pay close attention to all the details and write them down, even if you think they aren't important. There's something in your life you need to be aware of!!

Don't wank so much. Go a couple of weeks and you'll have vivid pony dreams.
Or at least, I do. :raritywink:

Not really. I barely have dreams that even have pony references in them... Except last night, where for some reason I dreamed I had hooves (just hooves) and was trying to play my cello... It was quite awkward, since I forgot what my cello looked like, and was playing it sideways... But you know... Dreams and stuff.

3282586 If I could remember the exact details, I'd make it a story. But as it is, my brain is filled with too much Fallout: Equestria lore (not even joking; I have small details such as dialogue and location names memorized) for me to remember a dream that happened almost a year in enough detail to write about it.

I've only had a few pony dreams ever, but one was epic. I was out in some western state, for some reason I know it was Wyoming but it was never specified, camping by myself then Rainbow dash fell from the sky. I helped her fight all these weird creatures to the top of some mountain where she had to go to get back to her friends but I wolk up long before we made it to the top. I can't remember a lot of details, it feels very hazy, I just remember the jist of it. It was fun as hell though. Other than that just a couple unmemorable ones.

3282449 Lol, thats a rough one.

3282383 Very strange, I had a similar dream once, I didn't know who they were, as characters I mean, I guess they were my subconcious's oc's. It seems other people have a had a similar dream on here aswell. I might be making connections that dont exist, but I wonder if it's because ponies really are apart of our daily lives, and no one knows but us? I'm about as closet brony as humanly possible, and they're apart of my daily life because I check Equestria daily and Fimfiction atleast daily, usually. If this sounds like you we might be on to something.

I've had like 2 as well. I don't dream.

I remember finding a NMM plush in one of muh dreems.

It was a nice fucking plush.

I think I had a weird dream where I was a pony being chased through concrete pipes by some unknown dream-monster. It looked a bit like Vanish, now that I think about it. I alternated between 2 and 4 legs because, you know, dream logic. I did use green telekinesis at one point, though.

3283995 that's some scp-level bullshit right there

Ambien and a nicotine patch will give you some seriously F-ed up dreams. (Pony not guaranteed.)
