Why I Don't Write Here Anymore

I suppose it's been on my mind for a long time, but it never really occurred to me until recently. And because a few of you have been waiting for some projects I promised I'd finished, you deserve to know, as well.

    This exists . . .

This is a thing that exists. This was made with effort, and money.

And Hasbro actually put their name on this.

    . . .

    . . .

    . . .

I'm gonna step away from this one.

My good friend needs some support

You all probably know HudsonHawk, especially if you know me. Even though I've never met the man in person, he's my best friend on this site, on the internet, and probably ever.

    Embarking on a new venture

Recently I discovered a site for content creators called Daisie. It allows people to post their work and ask for collaborators, and it was created by actress Maisie Williams, whom many of you might know as Arya Stark from Game of Thrones.

400 Follower OC Q&A panel -- Answers, Part 1 · 12:33am Jul 27th, 2015

Okay, folks, here it is! You provided the questions, now we, the OCs of LightningSword, will provide the answers! This is Nocturne, and I will be the makeshift moderator for this post. And you've already met the OCs in the preivous posts, so let's get started!

First question is from Jarvy Jared:

This is for Dac, but it can be for the others as well. Out of all the members of the Mane Six (plus Sunset Shimmer), who do you like the most?

What, me? Umm . . . gosh, I can't decide. They're all so sweet and helpful and . . . cute . . . but I guess I like Pinkie Pie. She's basically everything I wish I could be. Happy, energetic, friendly, outgoing. And Fluttershy is always so nice to me. But Sunset has been the best, so far. She's really changed. In fact, I owe her my life . . . .

Well, most people know that Fluttershy is the pony that helped me the most, so if I had to pick a favorite, she would easily be it. Anyway, you heard the asker, guys. You can give your response too, if you like.

Well, of the six who protect us so steadfastly, it is difficult to choose just one. Aside from Rarity and the way she handles herself so regally, I suppose I think Twilight's leadership and sense of right is pure and just, and that makes her a prime choice as my favorite.

What? You think I chose her because she's a Princess, and that her brother is my commanding officer and that I'm in the hot seat with her mentor as it is? Absurd!! That was close . . .

Appajak! Appajak!

I figured Cal would have a streak of nepotism in response to this question. Isn't there another one of Applejack's friends you like?

Friends you like? Ah Twileye? And Raybodash? And Pinkie? And Fah-shy? And Reh-tee?

Yes, Cal, one of them.

One of them? Ahh . . . ah Twileye, and Raybodash, and Pinkie, and Fah-shy, and Reh-tee!

Hmm . . . it seems he can't pick a favorite . . . .

Favorite? *Gulp* Well . . . I guess . . . I g-guess I like . . . Sunset best . . . DO NOT TELL HER I SAID THAT!!

Hmm . . . well, Rainbow Dash works weather here in Ponyville, and she's awesome at it! I wanna be like her! And Applejack and Rarity are cool, too, 'cause they're really nice to their little sisters.

Well, I'm getting good at talking to ponies and making them feel better. And I learned a lot from Fluttershy. So, she's my favorite!

Ew . . . lotta mushy stuff . . .

*Sigh* . . . oh, Stormy . . . .

Okay, next question comes from Harms Way:

What do ya'll do for fun when LS isn't using you for a story?

Lurking, mostly. That's the closest thing to fun I usually have . . .

I love my writing. I write all kinds of poetry whenever I feel down. I have notebooks jam-packed with poems I've written.

Well, being a royal guard at the Canterlot Palace, there's not a lot of room for fun. But when I get the chance, I stay fit by visiting my usual workout swats--SPOTS! I-I mean workout "spots"! :facehoof::twilightblush:

So, Cal, what do you do for . . . fun . . . . ?

*rocks back and forth, flapping hooves in front of eyes*

Uhhh . . . you'll have to excuse him. He appears to be "in the zone". He's just stimming right now . . .

Well, I don't know if it counts, but I've been spending lots of time practicing talking to girls in front of a mirror. I get confident, and I go to school feeling really good! But then I see those short skirts, and . . . well . . . :twilightoops:

I like to practice my cloud work whenever I can. I'm still a little Pegasus, so I don't fly very well, yet . . . b-but I'm not a baby!

Stormy, please calm down. Well, as for me, I like to play with my stuffed animals. We have parties and things, and sometimes, I like to pretend they have problems I can talk to them about.

Jman796 has the next question:

Captain Steel, are you hiring and specialized officers?

There's always room for ponies willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. I'm a simple Deputy Captain, though, but I would be more than willing to discuss the matter with Captain Armor. If ponies wish to answer the call, we shall do our best to make it happen.

Next few questions come from LightningSword's friend and long-time reader, HudsonHawk:

Hey, Dac! I'm glad you're still here. And you were just as much a star in your story as Sunset, so you're one to me. As someone who considered taking his own life ten years ago when my depression was at its worst, your story spoke to me.

First off, are you seeing Dr. Slipp like Twilight asked you to? If so, what's he like? Does he help at all?

Thank you. I'm glad I was able to help you somehow. Usually, I don't feel very useful, so I'm happy to know that something I did helped someone else.

To answer your question: Dr, Slipp has tried to be helpful, but lately, my therapy hasn't been enough. All I can say is, I may need to visit Ponyville soon, just to get myself together and get some inspiration. Twilight did invite me, after all. :ajsleepy:

To Cal, I too have a form of autism. I just want you to know that it can be both a blessing and a curse. Taking it away would also take away some of the good qualities you possess. I just want you to know that you're not alone, and that there are others like you.

Can I give you a hug?

*Covers eyes with hooves*

It's okay, Cal. Hudson's a good guy.

Is good guy? Okay . . .

. . .

. . . . *hugs*

To Stormy Knight and Sunny Skies, how are you two doing? Can I give you both hugs? You both deserve them. Also, I wish I could have seen Cheerilee dish out what Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon had coming.

Hee hee! Yeah, that was kinda funny. I would love to give you a hug, Mr. Hawk!

I don't know . . . colts don't hug other colts, you know . . . .

Stormy, you don't have to only get hugs from fillies. Colts can hug, too, you know.

Well . . . okay . . . .

*Hugs* *Hugs*

To all of you, a human named Paul McCartney once wrote that in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make. Do you believe that to be true?

I haven't given love in so long, and in all that time, I never got any. But now that I'm among friends, I've received all the love I've given back. Before, I would have disagreed. But now, there's no doubt in my mind.

Absolutely. Love is a constant, moving pool of energy. If you stop the motion, it stagnates. But if you give love, it keeps moving, and it comes back to you eventually.

My job doesn't deal with love very often. Well . . . unless that counts . . . n-no! No, of course it doesn't count . . . no . . .I, uh, will have to get back to you on that one, citizen.

To be true? Is love? Awww . . .

Well, I'm not sure. I haven't had the guts to make lo--er, GIVE love to anyone. I want to, though . . . GIVE love, that is . . .

I hear grown-ups say "what goes around, comes around" a lot. So, if you give love, you get it back, right?

Well, sort of. And I believe it's true. It's just so romantic!

Yuck . . .

The next question comes from Rainbow Lightnin:

To Everyone: do you think that girls can call themselvs Bronys?

If they want to, I see no reason to stop them. If society says they shouldn't, why should we follow that? Sometimes, society is wrong. I ought to know . . .

Well, if you really want to. I think "Pegasister" sounds kind of pretty, though.

Stallions have their terminology, and mares have theirs. After all, a mare can't really consider herself a "BRO"ny, can she?

What's Brony? :rainbowhuh:

Well, I like Pegasisters . . . I-I mean, the WORD "Pegasister"! I didn't mean that I like--n-not that I don't like girls, I just . . . well . . . jeez, I just cannot shut up when I'm nervous . . . :facehoof:

Well, my mom told me to always be nice to fillies. And I guess it's not all that different. So, I guess it's okay.

I prefer Pegasister, myself. It sounds fun and sassy! Hee hee!

And since we have quite a few comments and questions, we'll end off this one with a question for me from Lazy_gamer48:

what do you do o ponies when they don't listen to you? If that won't spoil the story?

Ordinarily, I would infest the deepest, darkest recesses of their minds and terrorize them straight down to their bones. Fear is a surprisingly good motivator.

But, Fluttershy tells me that that's not a nice thing to do. Rats . . . .

As an added bonus, I'll take some questions directed at me that the others can't answer. I know I said it would just be my OCs doing the Q&A, but there are several questions here that none of them can answer, and I couldn't leave them hanging.

Golden Flare says:

Will there be a continuation of "One More Dance"?

I've been tinkering with ideas for a sequel to "One More Dance" for months. I think I have a solid idea in the works, but only time will tell.

Draconaquest says:

What's the story you're most proud of?

The ones that are the most successful tend to be my proudest achievements. "Shy Girl" is my highest-rated fic so far, and I love how I handled that one. "One More Dance" has gotten me almost nothing but positive reception, as has my rewrite, "The Phantom Pony of Everfree". So, those three, I think, are the ones I am the most proud of.

MLPFan234 says:

Ever planning on Writing more stories, Based around Rarity? :duck:

I certainly hope so. I LOVE writing Rarity's lines. She's so funny and quirky, and she's my second favorite of the Six. I would love to write more Rarity stories in the future. :raritywink:

So, this has been part 1 of the OC Q&A panel! We'll cover more questions from the first blog post in the next one. In the meantime, check out the new chapter of my story, "The Phantom Pony of Everfree" (I'm not in this one, though :applejackunsure:). Take care, guys!

Awesome! Thank you all for your answers! Dac, you take care of yourself, you hear? You've friends from both universes.

And, since I'm in a pretty good mood (as I've come up with another story to write! Glorious feelings shall ensue), I leave you all a parting gift. Because why not?

(Hugs Cal, Stormy and Sunny back)

Go for it, Dac. Sometimes even the most reclusive individual needs to go out once in a while.

And don't worry, Hoof. You're young. BIG embarrassments are yet to come.

And to all of you... may all your good dreams and fine wishes come true.
