Spoiler Alert: Age of Ultron, Part Six · 12:34am Jul 23rd, 2015

:rainbowhuh:: Ya know, I know I'm not exactly the most critical mare around here. But I'm really disappointed that this movie reused the robot army element from the last movie. Ultron, from what I remember, has used robot armies before. But he's also used supervillain teams, and can usually take on the Avengers on his own. It's kinda disappointing for us to get another army attack on a city, when we could've gotten a completely different kind of superhero action climax.
Anyway, Vision is the first one to attack Ultron, using his robot powers to lock Ultron out of the internet and keep him stuck in his own body. Pretty smart way to start the rumble!
:yay:: Amidst the fighting, Scarlet Witch begins to undergo a panic attack. I really like the fact that Hawkeye is the one who talks her out of it and back into the fight. From what Twilight told me, Hawkeye and the Maximoffs joined the Avengers at the same time, and all three of them were reformed villains. So it's really sweet to see their friendship continued here.
:rainbowdetermined2:: Stark comes up with a plan to explode the city, so it can't cause the impact necessary to kill everyone, but Cap doesn't wanna do it until all the civilians are safe. So Nick Fury reappears with a helicarrier salvaged from the mothballs to bring everyone to the ground.
Yeah, they're dragging out the idea of the helicarriers after they stopped using them after Winter Soldier, but I'm certainly not complaining!
AND THEY BROUGHT WAR MACHINE AND FALCON!!

:applejackunsure:: Ultron, badly hurt, steals a Quinjet an' tries ta use it ta gun down Hawkeye an' a child he tries ta rescue. Howe'er, Quicksilver get in the way an' dies instead.
:twilightangry2:: NO!!
:raritydespair:: Twilight! Are you sure you're ready...?
:twilightangry2:: Not sure, don't care! This film. Will not. Beat me!
From a logical perspective, this was a poor choice. Quicksilver, in both the comics and the X-Men movies, has always been faster than the speed of sound. Some people have suggested that the MCU Quicksilver is slower than Fox Quicksilver. And that's complete minotaur hockey! Why would the Quicksilver who has to keep up with Thor and the Hulk be SLOWER than the one who just has to compete with Wolverine and Beast?! Besides, we've already seen him catch bullets, so while this scene is possible, it is not plausible!
But what's worse, is that it's a bad WRITING decision. Whedon says he did this because he wanted to show that there were real stakes in these fights. Now, first off, using death just to make people care is a dubious writing technique in the first place. But killing off a brand new hero who has yet to live up to his potential just for shock value is enough to ruin the film, if that was still possible!
:duck:: Well, then. Hulk, apparently realizing how toxic his working environment with Black Widow is, jumps into the Quinjet, throws Ultron out, and flies off and away from the team.
:rainbowderp:: Wait, when the heck did THE HULK get flying certification? For a STEALTH PLANE?!

:applejackconfused:: The Scarlet Witch goes an' finishes off Ultron's main body, but unfortunat'ly, since she'd been the one guardin' the device that drops the city, a drone manages ta, well, drop the city.
:rainbowderp:: Eh, she's an amateur whose judgement is clouded by the death of a sibling. I'll give her a pass. Plus, the other heroes bail her out. Vision manages to get her, the last person in the city, to safety, while Thor and Iron Man blow it up.
:twilightsheepish:: Well, at least that means if they decide to ship Vision and Wanda in a later movie, it'll have more build-up than Bructasha did.
Vision finds the last Ultron drone, featuring the last remnant of Ultron's programming. Before destroying it, Vision has a conversation about the nature of humanity, ultimately saying that the human race is doomed, but that doesn't mean they're not worth helping.
I fully agree with that statement.

Honestly? And here's my thoughts on the matter........ Kill Hawkeye. I like Clint, I REALLY do, but? He's just... He was built up so well in this movie and it'd bring a real tragedy to it. If you were GONNA kill off anyone? Make it Clint because no one would expect it, they could use it as an opportunity to bring in Kate Bishop with the potential for the Young Avengers to show up down the line.

As it stands.... They just killed him off because he wasn't as fast as Fox's Quicksilver.... Difference is? Pietro is actually CLOSER to his comic self here than in Days of Future Past!!! Not only is he running at more traditional levels, unlike Fox's who is basically The Flash in how fast he was going, BUT had a lot more to offer this universe aside from one scene!!

3265515 I agree that, regardless of Whedon's desire to surprise the audience, that would be the right call if I felt it was actually necessary to kill off a character. But I'd still argue that it wasn't necessary to kill of anyone in this film, especially when you already have the tragedy of Hulk leaving the team.
Though I wouldn't say that no one would see it coming; there was a lot of little bits of foreshadowing to Clint dying in the film. Lots of Retirony.
Personally, I've come to grow to like both Quicksilvers, even though this one is much closer to the original in terms of personality. The fact that they made a version of Quicksilver that was closer to the original and yet significantly more likable is a feat in and of itself, in my opinion.

AND the helicarriers aren't crashed by the end! Plot twist!

That Quicksilver didn't have to compete with Wolverine and Beast, the only reason he existed was as a plot device to break Magneto out of jail. And to show off their special effects. And there's a difference, a big difference between the speed a hand gun bullet travels at and the speed a mingun fly's at.
But from a writing perspective? Ya, its stupid.

3268365 I'd argue that a version of Quicksilver who has to look formidable next to Thor and Iron Man should be able to outrace even a mini gun, but either way it's a moot point.
