Cadance of Cloudsdale (so far) now in Spanish!

Thanks to the generous SPANIARD KIWI, the text of Cadance of Cloudsdale so far is now in Spanish! Mr. Kiwi has done a tremendous amount of work translating many of my stories into Spanish, but this goes above and beyond. If you're curious, you may visit the project so far here at this

    Happy Cadance Day 2024!

Things feel a bit subdued today, due to the coincidence of Valentine's Day and Ash Wednesday through a quirk of the liturgical calendar. It is somewhat difficult to juxtapose the splash of corporate-encouraged love with the festival that literally exists to remind us of our mortality. The pink of Valentine's washes against the purple of Lent. So I'm in a pensive mood, more so than usual on this

    Ciderfest is a wrap!

Just got home from PVCF and it was an amazing con experience! The minific-based ARG that circulated around the con the whole weekend was high-concept, and I was worried about engagement, but everyone seemed to really get into searching out the hard-to-find stories concealed around the convention hall (in places as obscure as "the desktop wallpaper on one of the monitors in the video game room,

BronyCon! · 8:05pm Jul 16th, 2015

God willing an' the creek don't rise, I will be at BronyCon (August 7-9, Baltimore Convention Center) this year! Unlike BABSCon, I'm actually a panelist for this one, so absent all other means of contacting me you can come see me there, along with (I think, unless the lineup's changed) GaryOak, totallynotabrony, Aquaman and ABagOfVicodin[1], all discussing the writing of horse comedy. Unfortunately, last I checked, the schedule has not been finalized, so I can't actually tell you which day it's gonna be on. I also have no merchandise except my clothing, which is one-of-a-kind, so you can't have it. Also I do not want to be cold. It would take a lot of money, is what I'm saying.

Tell your friends! Especially the ones who have no idea what BronyCon is, because then they will be confused and shun you; then you will have more time to read and upvote my stories.

[1] It is possible that there will also be a literal bag of Vicodin on stage with us. I am not certain.

Nice! I actually do get to meet you in person, then!

ETA: Oh, I suppose I should probably do some sort of similar announcement thing myself, at some point, shouldn't I?

Hopefully, I will get a chance to met you. :)

Shoot, I forgot to activate my anti-Bradel filter. Well, this is awkward.

...so if we could conceivably come up with enough money we could get your clothing.

Alright.

:raritydespair:

Okay, nevermind then.

I'm just going to hang out in my conveniently located Baltimore hotel room with a few pints of Vanilla Oat Swirl...

3243470
Well, yes, but it will be very, very expensive. I need to pad my legal defense fund before all the "irreparable psychological harm" lawsuits come in from people traumatized by seeing me with my shirt off.

3243490 ...I'll have my people talk to your people. I'm sure we can come to an agreement.

I know it's a horse gag and all, but I actually think oatmeal-swirled ice cream sounds delicious right now. What is wrong with my head? If the answer to this question is "nothing," I need to start petitioning ice cream companies to create horse-themed ice creams. We could call them... "Horse Creams!"

...or perhaps not. Damnit, now I have to shower.

Augh, but I had to cancel my plans to go this year! :raritydespair:

I should be there myself this year.

Well, I can't be there since I'm in sunny, sunny Florida, and my alligator mount only operates properly below a certain latitude. I managed to go to the Grand Brony Gala, though, so my year is not without awesome pony conventions at least. Looking forward to seeing the panel video, though!

How much for your shirt?:trollestia:

Awesome! I'll be looking for you there. :pinkiehappy:

Awesome! I'm going for the first time because of Mr de lancie, but seeing a bunch of creators is a huge bonus! :pinkiehappy:

See you there!

... dammit, I literally bought tickets to Otakon half an hour ago. I had my choice between Otakon or Bronycon (I'm not going to Baltimore twice in one summer) and Otakon narrowly won out. If I'd known Sky would be there I'd have decided the other way around. And airline tickets are non-refundable.

I just assumed you wouldn't make it out to the east coast.

3243967
I don't know where you get your airline tickets, but I go through Expedia and I usually have a 24-hour cancellation window on them. So all hope may not yet be lost for you.

3243967, 3244154
Same here and same experience. I've successfully gotten money back within 24 hours even on otherwise non-refundable tickets, but I don't know what broker you use.

Man, I checked, and a refund was possible, and I was sorely tempted. But buying plane tickets to Otakon also entailed "letting other friends know I'd be there" and "paying for a con membership" and "people agreed to let me crash in their hotel room."

It was tempting! My animu friends are old and creaky and I've known them for like two decades. My pony-related friends and acquaintances are new and shiny and I haven't yet had a chance to see them get drunk and make fools of themselves!

Y'all have fun in Baltimore. And stay hydrated. Baltimore in the early summer... well, for those of us from up north, walking outside tends to feel like the air has slapped you in the face with its pustulent heat-dong.

3246665
No worries, man. Maybe there'll come another year! Have fun at Otakon!
