Well, That Sucks · 12:38pm Jul 15th, 2015

Well, I plugged my Wii back in, and popped F-Zero GX in for the first time in years, and was met with the horrifying notification that the save data had become corrupted and irretrievable.

So beating all the cups on Master Difficulty, one of my proudest achievements in gaming, now rests squarely on my word, with no medals or indicators to back it up.

And I seriously doubt I have the ability, or the willpower, to do so again, like I did ten years ago. F-Zero GX was noted for it's unforgiving difficulty.

Speaking of which, GX, a 2003 GameCube game, is the last F-Zero console entry. What the fuck, Nintendo? You have any idea how eye-popping this game could look on modern hardware? I really kinda hope you have something cooking for whatever the "NX" is going to end up being.

Because if not, the Big Blue DLC for Mario Kart 8 is just some cruel trolling on your part.

Nintendo ain't got time for a new F-Zero! They've gotta make a new Mario Kart!

But in all seriousness, as someone who's waited five years for a new Metroid game to come out (and eight years for a good Metroid game to come out), I feel your pain. And I understand Star Fox has gone a whole ten years without a new game (and no, Star Fox 64 3D and Pandora's Labyrinth of Deceit don't count).

3239767 I bought a 3DS solely for StarFox 64 3D, and as heartbreaking as it is to say, Star Fox Zero doesn't look like it's going to hold up.

3239776 I think the problem stems largely from the fact that Star Fox was produced by Rare, so when Rare left for Microsoft, Nintendo found itself without a developer for Star Fox.

As for F-Zero, I have no clue why they haven't made another game. I guess they just can't think of anything new that they can do with the franchise.

3239978 Who said anything about new? Hell, GX with higher resolution and fps would be godly.
