So I read the Discord Chapter book · 11:02pm Jul 14th, 2015
It was okay, nothing mind-blowing, but it's not really aimed at our age group so I can forgive it. I prefer the comics. However, there were some neat little things I took note of that I might use in future fics or chapters (when I have time/energy to write again, that is. Grumble.)
Spoily things beyond this point.
I suppose there's mild shipping fuel, but nothing as blatant as the comics. Discord gets the warm fuzzies when he watches Fluttershy leave, though the story pretty much says what he's feeling is friendship.
But still, cute. :)
-Discord's signature resembles a tornado
-He calls Fluttershy "little winged lemon drop" at one point, when she isn't there.
-Once again he refers to himself as "thousands of years old."
-Pinkie Pie startles him and he finds this "Impressive."
-A teapot Fluttershy gave him is the only "pretty" thing he owns. He finds it unsightly but keeps it out of sentimental value
-There's a background pony called "Noteworthy" in this. I just find this amusing
-Fluttershy is insufferably smug that her kindness is having an effect on Discord
-Apparently Celestia gives Discord friendship tests
-Rarity actually finds Discord's fashion sense very stylish but won't admit it
-Discord has a Clownfish called Q
-Discord has several things of value to him hidden around Equestria. He can't remember where a lot of these are. Celestia rewards him by returning these things to him when he completes a friendship test.
-Discord uses his pony disguise in this, but he says while "being a pony is not that bad" he would never want to "stop being me."
He loves his draconequus booty and he wants you to know it.
ETA: Forgot one more- Discord spends the night on Fluttershy's couch sometimes because he naps after afternoon tea. d'aww
Yeah, Fluttershy killed me in that book.
I bet Celestia wrote all those friendship tests for Twilight, but was afraid to administer them for fear of stressing Twilight into a heart attack, but then figured Discord could handle it.
So the writers really are trusting him enough to write books or children? Now this is something to get my hooves on.

Since a being who can teleport anywhere instantly doesn't need to sleep on the couch because the journey back would be too tiring/long, I assume he does it because he wants to be near her.
