I think everyone looks back into their respective pasts from time to time. As of late I've had more than enough time to reflect on days long gone. Before I had moved on. I remember countless waking hours sitting at my computer to naught but the sound of my keys clacking away into the empty space of my room. I remember messages, comments, and long sessions spent talking with either fans or other

    A more genuine goodbye.

    My inane ramblings!

The above is a recording I just did. It is me trying to give a better goodbye and the real reason I quit. It is out there really more for my sake. It was just something I felt needed to be done. Anyway, I hope it gives better closure than my last blog. Take it easy, y'all.

... I hate the sound of my own voice, I swear...

    One last blog post.

Well, folkies... I'm calling it done. Yup. I simply don't have the desire to write anymore. Like... At all. I've been kidding myself for a long time now. Each word I've written is forced, and it doesn't have the emotion behind it that it used to. So... I'm not going to beat around the bush anymore.

One last blog post. · 9:13pm Aug 9th, 2012

I've just severed the last tie I had to writing, and you know what? I feel... Both sad, and... A lot lighter. Writing was fun up until all the ridiculous levels of hate. Not criticism. Hate. After a while... The joy just isn't there anymore. I'm not mad about it, or bitter, because I've gained a lot through doing this. I've had fun times with friends, and met a very special person because of this.

I want to thank all of you out there for putting up with all my crazy stuff for as long as you have. I hope the 630k+ words were enough to make it easier to forgive me for this, but it is simply my time.

I'd like to specially thank those of you who have even given back to me through art, proof reading, and an extra special thanks to Extantdread for formatting the entire original story into google docs for me. It makes me sick ending things like this after receiving that much kindness.

Here is the link one last time. My Second Life

The story is riddled with flaws. They range from typos to poor detail, and just plain weird content. Despite all of that, it was the most fun I've ever had.

Now it's time to drop the nice stuff and finish things up by sending out a message to all those who bagged on the story. I wrote over 630,000 words despite all the shit you've given me, and entertained hundreds. The fuck have you done?

That's all I have, everybody. I wish all of you the best, and to pony on.

I'm dreaming, right? :fluttershbad:

Good bye, we'll miss you

Well it was good while it lasted.. :ajsleepy:

Even though you aren't writing anymore, I hope you will stay active on the site.
Sorry to hear you lost your motivation, but it was fun while it lasted yea?

This is a sad day for us all. I wish you luck on what ever you decide to do next. We'll miss you man.

Aww... Oh well, nothing we can do. Thank you for entertaining us thus far Coal. If you don't feel for the writing anymore, then don't write, that's fine.
Hope you don't consider you-know-who as a 'tie to writing'... Nah...
Goodbye man, so long. Bless your step.

Well......at least you gave us the original back. I hope you have a good life coal....and maybe, just maybe, when you die eventually.....you'll get that second one you deserve ;)

How ever many flaws there may be. It will ALWAYS, have a personal place in our hearts.

Emotions: :fluttershbad::flutterrage::heart::ajsmug:

well... fuck.

Man...so many emotions, so little space to convey them...
You're right, it was get fun while it lasted
You inspired so many people, so don't think it ends here dude
*Bro hug*
I hope you find the desire to write again someday, but until that time comes, if any writer on this site has earned a rest, its you
Good luck in everything Coal
And we will see around someday...I know it:twilightsmile:

http://nooooooooooooooo.com/ NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! :fluttercry::fluttercry: MSL is and always will be my favorite fanfic, its so sad to not get a proper ending, ahhhhh! IM IN A GLASS CASE OF EMOTION! :fluttershbad:

*sigh*...Farewell my friend.

I have nothing to say, but; thank you for the story that had helped me to be inspired to write my story and I hope someday that my story will catch even surpass the number of words your story contained, I already have 200k on mine so I am a little less than one third on what you have. I hope you don't leave this site forever. because we all enjoyed your time here.

Though it saddens me to see you go, I tip my hat to one of the most inspirational fic writers I've ever had the pleasure of stumbling across. I think i speak for a LOT of bronys when i say we wish you nothing but happiness and success in the future, and thank you for all the love. Stay golden, Brony boy!

:pinkiegasp:You got to do what ya got to do Coal! so sorry you had to leave with such a shit storm around you, but I enjoyed and loved everyone of those 600,000+ words to a point I can't explain. Thank you so much for your work, and I hope you live a fulfilling life! :fluttercry::pinkiehappy:

I really hate to see you go Coal. You're story help me out in quite a few ways. I won't go into detail about that though, but I will say that it helped to inspire me to write my current story 'What's love got to do with it?' I'm happy to see that you have found someone special out of all the hell you had to endure because of the haters. But hey, haters gonna hate right? I have quite a few myself. They always give me hell about something just because they can. It's all the same in the end though. Just a bunch of trolls trolling along. Trying to find a flaw to exploit to make another person miserable because they are just pathetic excuses of life. I hate to see you leave though because of the haters. It just gives them the freedom to say 'Hey, look what we did! We troll the shit out of this guy and he finally left.' I wouldn't give them that satisfaction. I also know the feeling of forcing the words out. Ive written almost 250k words because of your inspiration. Sometimes though the words just dont want to come out and feel forced. I have over 100 future chapters planned and have written down each idea. The words however are sometimes confusing or hard to get out because of the storyline I chose. Putting the ideas to words is hard at times. Anyway, I hope everything works out for you my friend. I'm sad to see you go and hope that sometime in the future you will come back to us. I want you to know that if you need ANYTHING, please let me know :pinkiesad2: I will do my best to help you out in anyway I can. Whether it's just someone to talk to or anything else. I am here to help. If you want my email just send me a message with email as the topic. I'm always available to chat. Thank you my friend, for your inspiration and everything else you have given to the community. I salute you. :yay: Oh and don't forget that MLP FIM season three will be airing within the next month or so.

Goodbye Coal,and thank you!

MSL was one of the first stories I´ve read and I loved every single chapter of it...

Thank you for this beautiful story and goodbye.

I hope to hear from you sometimes in the future.

Coal, it's a damn shame to see you go. MSL was one of the first stories I read and I loved it. I spent almost my entire spring break reading it and relished every moment of it. So many school days blown off reading. Hopefully things will work out in the end. With that, I bid you farewell.

i hate to see you go but i'm glad to see you're not forcing just for us. you've brought so much joy to us, i would hate for you to something you hate for our sake.

Have a good one man.

Well everypony... If I were a drinking person I'd say lets all go get get drunk and forget about this. But I am too responsible and beholden to a moral code to do so. Therefore I must say that all good things must come to an end.. It's just too bad that always happens now instead of later.

Goodbye, Coal Buck. Your writing was uplifting even with it's strife. You touched the lives of many, and many reached out in attempt to touch greatness.

I thank you. I hope that your life is fruitful and easy, that your times a never too interesting, that a wind will be forever at your back. Do what you wish, you have earned that, at least.

~Lorem Ipsum

On another note, anypony here know how to sing? I think Coal deserves a farewell song. (or party :pinkiesad2:)

Thank you, though. I enjoyed every single hour i used to read the story

I will miss it greatly my dear fellow. Thank you for all you have done. :moustache:

Thank you, Coal. Yours was the first I read with every single element of fanfic writing in it that I now adore in a fanfic. Thank you.

Peace be with you.

Thanks for the fun mate, take care of yourself.

You're the reason why i get into reading fics a lot, I will always remember "Second life", thank you for all the fun that you gave me

*wipes hands, walks away*

Well, that was one disappointing way to wake up.

Well, I can't say this comes as a complete surprise. I'm glad that you're not forcing yourself to write something you don't want to. I do hope that this doesn't mean you're done writing forever - it's not like MSL is the only story you're allowed to write!

Nice knowing you too.

Haters gonna hate but life must go on... I don't know what they told you but it saddens me greatly that you believed them....... If they find the time to tell you that they hate you it means that they care, co you must have done something really well to deserve this.

For me, personally My Second Life will remain one of the best works here (proof). Period. I don't care for the flaws. What matters to me is that I really enjoyed the story.

Maybe you decide to come back to writing. Maybe I will have the pleasure of reading your work some day. Maybe not. Whatever you choose - please don't forget the happy moments you've had working on My Second Life. When (NOT "IF" but when :trollestia:!) you decide to write more please post it so we could all venture into the magical world of Equestria with you as a guide.

Sorry buddy, Ya removed me on skype. No message, no nothing. I'm done, have fun and all that.

And so my favorite fiction comes to a close, I'm not mad or sad, In fact I'm happy that you are on the road to doing what it is you want to do.
May the light grace your every step.

Ya spoke to me without me apologizing first. Heheh. Yeah. What is the point in keeping you added if you won't talk? Take care of yourself, Satin.

Well forgive me, I thought we were friends. If only online ones. When have I never not talked, I've sent you messages, pics, and videos and not gotten a reply back.

Second, it's hard to keep a conversation with you when you keep leaving the groups Kintra starts.

Third, even if you don't see us as real friends there is literally no reason to burn the bridges to us. Why does it matter if we don't talk to you as often as we used to. You kept yourself on do not disturb so it felt like we were bothering you when we wanted to talk.

Can't say I'm surprised. And I also can't say that I find it terrible sad that there will be no ending to MSL. Although it is a shame. Not a terrible shame but a shame.
That said, even if I can no longer respect you or your actions (aborting the own story is one of the most terrible things a writer can do and it reminds me too much of myself), I do wish you well.

I will actually apologize for making you feel that way. I keep it on do not disturb to cut out the bloops.

And if you ever have any doubt if I thought of you as a friend or not; recall a certain night where somebody was incredibly down in the dumps, and I stayed up to talk them through it for hours.

That's all I have for you, Satin.

Kiotsukete, Coal Buck-san!

Yeah, I cared enough to confide in you and now I bring up Skype to see a big grey pic over you and a message from Kintra describing what went down. Total friendship there.

Have a nice day Coal.

Aw no!!Will you still be active on FiM fiction??

Thanks for the several months of your great writing.

Farewell, Coal Buck.
Just remember one thing: You're the writer FimFiction deserves, but not the one it needs right now.

coal please listen to me your work have and always will be one of the greatest works here and it saddens me beyond reason to see you leave so please take a break and don't leave...... it will break me and others i know hard....... you are me inspiration to write my own stuff....and to se..:fluttercry:...ee you give up is..... eradicating.....:raritydespair::raritydespair::raritydespair::raritydespair:

and know that its not the end of a journey but the experience all together............that counts:fluttershyouch:

i've seen you from the beginning i followed you trough hell has heaven.........and to see it end like this..........i can't even describe what happening.........:applecry:

but its your choice....... i will give you salute friend for many months of joy, pain, grief and pleasure....... and a journey like none other........

sighed with love
kararnos.......A.K.A. Passionate Heart

It makes me sad to see you leave, but you have to do what you have to do. Your story is still one of my favorites I've read, and I'll always love it.

Thank you for writing what you did. You're an awesome person and we'll love you always.

All those hours I spent reading this story were worth it.
Coal, your Fic made a lot of positive changes in my life that I will never forget, and I wish I could repay.
I'm a little sad that this Fic has now come to an end, but the impact it made will remain in our hearts.
So with that being said, I say goodbye and good luck to you Coal.
May your life be as happy as the one you always wrote about.:rainbowkiss:

You... you...
