Back in 1998:
Before I'd ever even heard the word "fanfiction," I sold a novel called The Blood Jaguar to Tor Books. The illustrated reprint edition is currently available from Sofawolf Books, and Horizon gives it an entirely reasonable review if you'd like an idea of what it's about.
And today? Today I got an e-mail from Sofawolf saying that the sequel is finally seeing print!
So I hope you'll forgive me if I put a great big image of the front cover right here:
It's a wrap-around cover, too, so this is only half the entire picture! You can check out more at Sofawolf's Rat's Reputation page and place an advance order for the book, too: they'll have copies available at Anthrocon if anyone's going to be in Pittsburgh for the convention this upcoming weekend, then they'll be mailing out any orders placed through the website after that. It's only available right now on Actual Paper, but for those of you who prefer e-books, that's the next thing on the agenda.
Mike
EDIT: Now that I look more closely at the Sofawolf page, you can't place an advance order for the book. It'll be available July 10th, it says, so hopefully that's when they'll get things set up to take orders!
Nice! I won't be attending Anthrocon, but I'll most likely be looking into getting these in print and seeing what they're all about.
Nice! Congratulations
Grats! There are days when I think I should attempt to sell a novel...
Then I wonder about how I would live on a dollar a day for the rest of my life, and I go back to my computer tech job.
Have you rebooted? Yes, I'll wait. It's down by the start button. No, not shutdown... Yes, just wait until everything is dark and hit the power button. Sigh.
Perhaps tomorrow I will be a writer.
Congrats!
Congratulations!
Augie that's wonderful! Many congratulations to you.

Sofawolf:
Has a booth at the San Diego Comic-Con where I've been all day, but the books weren't ready in time to be shipped here to the west coast. But the folks there said they've got the web page set up now to accept orders, so give this phrase a click, and give it a try!

I tried for 25 years--from 1989 till 2014--to become a professional writer, but I just don't seem to have the [insert concept here] for it: gumption, drive, talent, stick-to-it-iveness, whatever the current buzzword might be. So I reckon I'll make due with selling a short story or two a year, maybe the odd novel every once in a while, and write Pony stories and assorted non-Pony stuff as it amuses me. Fortunately, I've got two other part-time jobs that pay steadily and give me time for writing, so I shall remain at best a dilletante.

You might try the link above and see if Sofawolf does international orders. Anything is possible, after all!

Awesome! I'm gonna have to pick up a copy!
