"How do other readers and authors perceive Wave Blaster?" · 10:23pm Jul 5th, 2015

First of all, yes, this is going to be one of those blogs. Second, no, I'm not in a bad mod or something like the previous times I've written as myself, it's just that this is a serious post and I want to treat it with all the seriousness it deserves.

You see, my teacher for "Individual Creativity" wants us to make our Professional Resume, but with a twist; it has to be original and disruptive. He gave us this example:

In other words, he wants us to make a Resume that doesn't just resumes our academic/professional history, but instead something that present us as how we are and how do we work. At first, I was just going to write it as some kind of short meeting between the five most personal characters of every fanfic I've ever written and to whom I feel the most identified. All of them reflecting and discussing which are my personal worldview as also my expectations for my career, profession and occupation. If you're curious, they were going to be:

Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes pre-Flashpoint)
Anarky (Alan Grant's original one, previous to the first miniseries)
Azrael (Dennis O'Neil during No Man's Land)
Megatron (IDW G1, pre-war)
Trixie (pre-Magic Duel)

But then I realized that it wasn't a really good idea, and that first, I must be aware of how do others see me first, which drives us to this blogpost's purpose. If I will present myself as a writer, that means I have to have readers, right? Well, then I think it's the time for the truth.

I want you guys to go to TVTropes, pick the three ones you think better describe me and my work and post them in the comments section. This will not only be a big help for both, my academic and professional life, but also will give me a better understanding on what I'm actually doing as a writer.

To give you guys a lead, these are the ones I'm completely sure describe me:

Attention Deficit Creator Disorder: 14 works and only 7 fully finished.
Small Name, Big ego: Wants to be the next Edgar A. Poe, barely manages to avoid being the next ROB! Liefeld.
Berserk Button: More than he would like to have
The Knights Who Say Squee: Wave's exact reaction each time an author he respects and like comments in one of his works.
Ascended Fanboy: And now he has his own featured story.
Hidden Depths: Wave once wrote a 10 page essay on reality's perception and inter-subjectivity, base on his own experiences with fanfics and The Truman Show's premise.

I always perceived you with a beard... No mustache..... Long hair....... With a Black Sabbath t-shirt, black jeans, and sandals. :trixieshiftleft:

3210297 So.... Mustache, short hair, Led Zepplin t-shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers?

Had a Hard time to find some
because you've listed quite a lot already
but if were to add some:
- A God I am not : had a hard time to admit that "Stay" was one of his best work ever and will always be, today, a lot of changelings are proud to be the firsts to meet a human who's not here to fuck meet and befriend the first thing he'll see.

-coudn't find a name for this one so i'll call it, "Never lost": i've seen you write different kind of fics, to the comedy with a bit of slice of life, to a much darker or depressive tone, you've been trying different kind of writings, and still it's always just like you were at home
you anage to adapt pretty quickly to a new genre everytime you tried a new fic.

Thanks, mate, I'm actually blushing right now.

And I think that it's called "Genre Roulette" for when a work (or a body of work) constantly changes from one style to another.

3210502 i would have think more of a name with "adaptation", since to me it's one of the key words about your whole work, "adaptation".
but i guess this one fits pretty well:twilightsmile:
anyway, always glad to help:eeyup:

Hmm... can't think of any appropriate tropes. They tend to come across as a bit extreme. If I were to define my impression of you, though...

Young, idealistic. A bit naive. A crusader of your causes and of things you care about.

You know, usually, when an author on the internet starts writing about themselves instead of their work, I view it a sign that they've started to let their sudden relative popularity to go to their head. You've been fairly good about that so far, though, so I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt there. Only this once, though. :derpytongue2:

Thanks, that will be fairly useful. Maybe bring up the Scale from Cynicism to Idealism with some Knight Templar tendencies when angry.

Pff-bwa-ha-ha!
Sorry, but this is not even close to the first time, regardless of fame or not (small name, big ego after all). In fact, in one of my less sane moments I completely forgot how to impersonate Wave Blaster and actually had to ask what he was supposed to be.

But thanks, you brought up another one I was missing; Wave is a friggin' Shameless Self-Promoter
