Man, I did not think I'd hit the 500 mark after just two chapters. With over 250 thumbs up to boot! This is awesome!
Work on chapter 3 has begun. No promises that it's be done in the immediate future. It'll probably be at least another week or two, especially if I get a bunch of people to proofread it like I usually do. So to tide you over, I'll give you the epigraph for chapter 3. (Also, it's awesome that people actually appreciated the Donne quotes; he's one of my favorite poets and I was afraid of sounding horribly pretentious having those in there. In retrospect I kinda wish I had used a quote to name the story, but eh. Chapter titles are good enough).
Dear love, for nothing less than thee
Would I have broke this happy dream ;
It was a theme
For reason, much too strong for fantasy.

You reminded me how it's been so long since I sat down and read Donne. I love him! :D
You used them so wonderfully and he is a most spectacular poet (he's why I began writing poetry to begin with!), have no worries!
It is a fantastic story so far, and deserves all the attention and praise it has gotten. Good luck with future installments. I know I look forward to them.
Well, seing how it's a great story that's been EQD'd, I'm not entirely surprised. You deserve it. Congrats anyways!
250548 The weird thing is that I started getting a ton of favorites and stuff as soon as I posted chapter 2. I mean, I expected to get a bump when the EQD story update got posted, but I didn't think it would get much attention until then. Not that I'm complaining.
As for the poetry, Donne was probably the first poet that I ever actually enjoyed reading, and some of the poems fit the story well enough that I couldn't help but stick them in. I already know which poem I'm using for the last chapter; not saying what though because spoilers.
Also holy crap you guys respond fast. I only put this post up like five minutes ago.
I can wait for something good, and frankly there's not exactly a ton of AppleSparkle fics so I can be patient.
An intriguing quote. Before I started doing MLP fic, my only writing experience was poetry. I do appreciate seeing people who don't just use an excerpt, but make it connect to the story.
If you get the chance, I recommend you read some Martha Collins. Seems like you tend to lean towards the romance side, but she's a poet worth reading.
I really do hope you can get these out ASAP. TwiJack is my OTP ever since reading Yours Truly, and there really aren't enough fics about them.
