    In Equestria, Part 3

Humans coined the word humane, naming one of our most important values after ourselves. The corresponding etymology for ponies yields chivalry.

    Filli Vanilli [spoilers]

Episode review, because all the cool kids are doing it. Or rather, not so much a review as a scattering of thoughts.

This was one of the better episodes in a while. Is it just a Fluttershy-episode thing? It's certainly not an Amy Keating Rogers thing, though she does seem to be getting better over time.

    In Soviet Equestria...

Goodnight Moon is a propaganda piece.

I like your letter a lot better than the episode's. Twilight is supposed to be a scientist but she willfully ignores all the evidence for the validity of Pinkie sense just because it's different from what she's used to. Though, admittedly, human history is full of examples that show the scientific community is not so open to radical new ideas as it theoretically should be. But then, the one time Pinkie sense seems to fail ("The hydra wasn't the doozy?"), Twilight gives up her fight and accepts Pinkie sense. THAT makes no sense.

I still enjoyed the episode but it was probably the only season 1 episode where I felt the writers really botched the moral. Season 2 is another story.
