Looking for someone who can read Japanese · 6:48pm Jul 1st, 2015
Hey everyone. As you might know, I am a person who runs a website dedicated to anime and manga. As such, I often find myself faced with news and promotions that I can't actually read because I don't know Japanese.
I'm looking for someone who's able to read kanji and is okay with me throwing things at them to translate now and then. It's usually nothing very length, just short news articles or pages describing products.
If you or anyone you know might be able to help me out, let me know! Thanks.
I can help if you like.
Even got a dictionary specifically for getting the readings of kanji. If I can find it...
I can read Japanese..
But I can't understand it

goddamn weebs >:(
I'm currently learning Japanese on Rosetta stone, and I'm planning on moving to Japan in a few weeks. I've already bought my nipon-steel katana and Kimono, so it's all good. Some people call me a 'weeb' but I prefer the term, 'otaku'.
Jk, I'm too alpha to be a weeaboo.
I've "worked" as a scanlator on manga (for free), and I'm tagged with the translator tag on Derpibooru for my Japanese translations. This sounds like something I can handle. I could PM you some samples if you need them for quality control.
Maybe this could help (link)
I used to be able to, when I was younger. Then I started using English primarily and I lost my Japanese because I never use it anymore.
I can
If you're OK with a non-native speaker of Japanese, then I am here to help in any way I can.
I have a class-1 (in the old classification system) certificate in JLPT, in case you want an objective credential. As you can see from the fact that I took JLPT at all, I'm not Japanese, but I am Korean, and in that respect I suspect I'd be more fit then most to pick up any nuances and cultural jargon a Westerner might not be able to pick up.
I am offering my services for free, but if you're looking for something resembling professional levels of proficiency and/or speed, then I think you might want to look for an actual professional.
Then again, I'd love to help you. :D
