    Chapter 56 Promo!

    In an isolated, abnormally large, hollowed-out tree might not be the typical abode for megalomaniacal n'ere-do-wells. Though, there was a reason both of them had opted for current accommodations over the typical kingdoms and castles, in one form or another. The area was absolutely inundated with dark magic. From the eerie glow that some of the plants gave off, to traces of black aerenth crystals

Congratulations to Doomlock and random Tumblr Anon #4 for noticing the clue in the last message~!
And now I shall be evil. If you guys put your heads together and solve, then decipher this, I'll post the final preview and a chapter portion.

Oh come on, i hate math, im on law school precisely because i hate it.

Fuck algebra I was done with you in high school

3194920
3194935

Tried to make it fairly straight forward via order of operations. Would you prefer I retool it as all science based?

I got the answer. Am to supposed to post it? You're a very tricky guy, Tarbtano. I hadn't had a headache this big since my last class.

I'm pretty good at math; I'm taking college algebra this upcoming semester.

Aw man, I thought I was done with this kind of stuff when I graduated.

3194954 im too lazy to answer,

i was joking by the by, i really dont like math but im not that bad, my family is mostly composed of engineers so i learned even if i didnt want to.

This is going to be a challenge.

1. 2(x + 10) = 60

X = 20

2. (X / 4) - 2 = 0

X = 8

3. 3[2(X / 3)] = 18

X = 9 [Also you didn't have a multiplication symbol after the 3, so it'd be really hard to figure out if you didn't know what that positioning meant]

4. 3x = 32

X = 10.6[repeating indefinitely]

5. X * Y = 11

Y < X and both are whole numbers

X = 11, Y = 1

6. 1, 3, 5, 7, x, 11

X = 9

7. 2 * X = 28

X = 14

8. X = 7

9. A prime number between 21 and 31 [has to be either 23 or 29]

10. [2(X) + 4] / 2 = 11

X = 9

11. [(X/5) + 6] * [(9/1) + 1] = 100

X = 20

12. The twice number of living species in the Panthera genus minus two. 24[I think]

13. 3(x) = 69

X = 13

14. The Suchomimus genus of dinosaur had this many species in its genus. 1

15. Twice the number of consonants in the genus name of the earliest known member of the family Suchomimus was a member of.12?

16. Four times the number of vowels in the name of the Cretaceous age that a dinosaur who's genus name means 'Wounding Tooth' lived in. [Campanian] 16

17. Frequently called 'Terror Birds', this primarily South American group had a single species reach North America during the Pleistocene. The number of consonants in said species name = 8

18. The number of this question. 18

19. X relates to the extinction date of the largest species of Kangaroo ever. The genus lived possibly lived as recently as this date which is less than 20,000. Find the approximate date and divide by 2,000 to find X. 9

20. The number of this question plus 2. 22

21. The 'Thick Headed Lizard' was a herbivore packing a domed skull that was 2(x) thick of solid bone. Find X [25 centimeters or 10 inches...]

Thijaing witx malp hrivy

If it was a Number-to-letter code then....you need to work on your spelling.

3195221

No actually you got a few wrong. Look closer, you typo'd on a few or got species/genus/subspecies crossed.

For instance on 4, it's = 42, not 32

1. 2(x + 10) = 60

X = 20

2. (X / 4) - 2 = 0

Question: Does (x/4) mean X divided by 4, or is it a fraction? I'm going with fraction till told otherwise.
X =8

3. 3[2(X / 3)] = 18

X =9

4. 3x = 42

X =14

5. X * Y = 11
Y < X and both are whole numbers

X = 11

6. 1, 3, 5, 7, x, 11

X = 9

7. 2 * X = 28

X =14

8. X = 7

9. A prime number between 21 and 31

23, 29 = Prime #'s

10. [2(X) + 4] / 2 = 11

X =9

11. [(X/5) + 6] * [(9/1) + 1] = 100

X = 20

12. The twice number of living species in the Panthera genus minus two.

Living panthera speceis = 5 * 2 = 10-2=8

13. 3(x) = 69

X =23

14. The Suchomimus genus of dinosaur had this many species in its genus.

There is only ONE species.

15. Twice the number of consonants in the genus name of the earliest known member of the family Suchomimus was a member of.

Earliest member = Ostafrikasaurus; 8 consonants

16. Four times the number of vowels in the name of the Cretaceous age that a dinosaur who's genus name means 'Wounding Tooth' lived in.

Genus = Troodon, Age = Campanian, Vowel = 4 * 4 = 16

17. Frequently called 'Terror Birds', this primarily South American group had a single species reach North America during the Pleistocene. The number of consonants in said species name = 4

Titanis walleri If Species represents only (Walleri) than the # of constants is 4, if it includes the intire name than the # of constants is 8.

18. The number of this question.

18

19. X relates to the extinction date of the largest species of Kangaroo ever. The genus lived possibly lived as recently as this date which is less than 20,000. Find the approximate date and divide by 2,000 to find X.
9-

What does the (9-) part mean?
Procoptodon, 18,000
20. The number of this question plus 2.
22

21. The 'Thick Headed Lizard' was a herbivore packing a domed skull that was 2(x) thick of solid bone. Find X

Pachycephalosaurus, 25 cm (10 in) thick. Do you want X in cm or in? in, X =5; cm, X = 12.5

Should I still even do this? I got excited when I saw math that I knew how to do and then realized there was smart people that got here before me

I think I got it, but I'm going to put a spoiler over the answer so everyone can still try and solve it if they want.

Thinking With Warp Drive

3195437 I got the same answer although I got an H instead of an R

WELP, this is where I get up and walk out, math wasn't my strong suit. P.S. Ask Siri what 0÷0 is. It's hilarious.

3195437 I got, like, half-right on that, but holy crap copypasta got so much wrong somehwow[I ltierally copy-pasted the blog entry, so I'unno how 42 became 32...]

3195937
I think it was written as 32 at first, but tab changed it to 42.

YAK NO CAN DO MATH! YAK DESTROY!

Ah Shit Math my only Weakness, you really are Evil!

3195950

No I got the original file I typed this out on, it's a 42. I dunno if something goofed when I pasted it into FimFic or not happened but it's been 42 for me all this time. Typos have popped up in transition (19's answer was written in for a bit), so I apologize for any confusion.

Welp, I solved the first puzzle. You guys can do this one.:derpytongue2:

3196385 It's, Thinking With Warp Drive.

3197437 I see, thanks!

Thinking with warp drive, hmm?
Between this and team battle, I have no idea what this could mean...

Damn you and your mastery of giving just enough information to make us freak out, tarb!!!

I....I don't even.....WHAT?! My brain hurts, and math is my STRONGEST skill. :P

3197930
You know, at no point is this listed as a teaser. There is no indecation that the solution to this "test" has anything at all to do with the upcoming chapter.

In short, Winnowa's sitster's son is likely playing headgames with us.

Ah son of a- well this might take me a while. I was never good with these type of questions.

I was under the impression that it's a teaser for something by the title saying "teaser".

3198291
It may well. It may well not. Since I'm hard pressed to thing of a single instance in either franchise of the phrase "Warp Drive", I'm edging in the direction of this teaser test just being a test to see if we get to see the next teaser.

"Team Battle" at least may fit; particularly if a certain pair of cyborgs decide to bail out Irys.

Then again, I shouldn't talk; I'm lousy with cyphers, but even I know better then to assume any particular decription key; if a simple number to letter conversion isn't used, then there's no telling what the answer is without a key.

3198321
For all you know, it could refer to the Xilians.

3198106 Check the previous posts, we've already posted the answer. but its under spoiler.

3198831
Wait really? I never noticed that. :twilightblush: I'm slow when it comes to that stuff. Wait, which blog was it in?

3198899 Several one of which is mine. The answer is Thinking with Warp Drive

3198574
3198659
Quite possibly. Xillian involvement was strongly implied by the picture in the last blog. I was going to question the type of FTL drive used, but as I am typing this, I recalled that Gigan's teleport is warp drive based. Ergo, it may be that we will be seeing Xillian history. Or, Gigan could be planning out a series of teleports.

I've stopped trying to predict Grendleson. It never goes well.

It's been two days since “Thinking With Warp Drive” was first put up. There is still no new trailer. Last time, all three went up in under two days. Therefor I suspect this is a wrong answer.

What we must ask ourselves is this: How trollish is Grendleson being this time? Perhaps instead of a alphabetic substitution key, he's looking for a reversed version? Or perhaps, the math is supposed to be in base 16, and the resulting 2 digit numbers are 8-bit ASCII code? Or some other trollish trick to confuse us.

Anybody got Winnowa's number? Maybe her sister can get a clue out of her son.

3201032

You guys got it right, I'm just polishing it off. :raritywink:

3201032
Dude, stop giving him ideas.

3207752
3204726
It should be obvious that I was just fishing for confirmation (and possibly the next clue.) After all, the only way Grendleson could possibly be so twisted to use such tricks unannounced would be if his mother were in fact the product of a drunken union between a shape-shifted, gender-bent Native American trickster spirit and Fenrir, making him the grandson of Coyote and the great grandson of Loki.

I'm reasonably sure he's not THAT bad.

Right?
