    I'm not dead!

Sorry for lack of updates! Life has been a wee bit hectic lately, so My updates on Ashes to Apples have been slow-coming. I WILL be continuing, fear not! Touching up some pre-writing now, actually. Once I get a regular upload schedule, you can expect very little deviation.

    I'm back

No huge blog post this time, just a simple statement. Anyone who reads my blogs may have thought I ditched FimFiction entirely, but I assure you, I have not.

You can expect a new story this week, if not within 24 hours of this blog post being published. I'm starying a very different kind of saga this time around, and hope it is to your liking.

    FimFic; I am BACK!

tLoE XII: Equestria: Origins · 3:14am Jun 26th, 2015

Hello and welcome back to another installment of "the Land of Equestria"! As this series has progressed, I have gone over many aspects of Equestria as it stands in the modern age, and although I've mentioned portions of it's history, I've never gone too far back. This week, We'll be traveling back a ways, all the way to the foundation of Equestria itself, and looking more into each of the factions that made it possible.
The years leading up to Equestria's establishment appear to be the equivalent of the Dark ages for their world, and the three core pony races live with their own kind. The races each exhibit their own unique culture, way of life, and values.
The Pegasi were a warrior race, very comparable to ancient Rome, as their architecture and armor indicate. these pegasi seem to value honor, and would much rather settle issues through combat rather than negotiation. Their government, or what little was seen of it, seems to be militarily based, having their leader bear the title of "Commander" rather than emperor. They controlled the weather, (although given the sophistication of the time, it is more likely that they simply manipulated existing weather, given a lack of their more modern equipment and factories), which made them an ally by necessity ( and based on interactions, certainly not by desire) with the other two Races.
The Unicorns meanwhile, were a race that honored Nobility, as indicated by both their high respect for their higher ups, and the stereotype of being "snobs". The Unicorn Kingdom was a monarchy (most likely absolutist, given the power Princess Platinum felt entitled to/ wielded, however this cannot be confirmed, as it may have simply been her personality), seemingly based off of traditional European kingdoms. The Unicorns back in those days were in charge of the Day/Night cycle, and were the only kingdom to study magic extensively (based on the comments from other nations that Unicorn magic was freaky and/or strange). As with the Pegasi, the Unicorn Kingdom was allied with the others simply by necessity, and judging by Unicorn comments, they would have preferred it unnecessary.
Finally we come to the Earth Ponies, who seem to honor hard work and critical thinking. Their government is not very specific, however they do elect a chancellor to represent them and make decisions (implying that they may be an Oligarchy, given that their Chancellor can seemingly make any decision they want, such as settling new lands and speaking on behalf of the people, although one cannot be certain at this time). They were master farmers, and provided food for the other nations, again, by necessity.

So, where did Equestria come from then? Well, when the original land populated by the three nations became overrun by a terrible blizzard which ruined the territory, the three nations each set out to find a new home. So, after some migration, they came upon what would eventually become Equestria, but argued over who would own the Territory. The arguments attracted very powerful beings known as Windigos, which then began to overrun the new land in another fierce Blizzard, which eventually forced the three leaders and their followers to encamp in a sheltered cave, but as tensions grew, the leaders were incapacitated by the ice. Eventually, the assistants from each nation came together, and given the hopeless circumstances, found fighting futile and simply tried to be friendly to each other, as they themselves had no harsh feelings towards one another. in time, this new found friendship weakened the Windigos power, to the point of freeing the three leaders of the Nations. these leaders, seeing that cooperation was the only course of action, came to an agreement to share the land amongst themselves, thus establishing the Land of Equestria.

Now, Equestria was established long before the reign of Celestia and Luna came into the picture, so it is unknown exactly what the first equestrian government was. As for when Celestia and Luna took the reigns of power, or how, that information is not presently available. We do know however, that Starswirl te bearded was alive a the time of Equestria's foundation, and that he served under the Princesses, meaning that they most likely took control shortly after the official establishment of the nation. There is much we do not know about those early days, but one thing is certain: Much work and dedication had to go into the creation of the entity, and it would pay off, and one day become one of (if not the) most powerful nations on the planet.

TLDR Time!
-the Equestrians lived in a different part of the world
-There were three major nations, one for each race.
-The Pegasi were a warior race, Military government, very Roman based
-the Unicorns were a Noble race, Monarchy, Very Middle European based
-the Earth ponies were a Practical, hardworking race, Elected leaders (Oligarchy?), basis unspecific
-Winter destroyed their old land, they migrated to new land, argued over it
-Windigos forced the three nations to cooperate, and together they founded Equestria
-Equestria founded without Luna and Celestia, although they took power not long after it's foundation.

well, that's all for this week readers! keep on doing what you do best!
