    Winter storm

Any of my other southern bronies singing winter wrap up with ice in the bathtub and the oven running to try to warm the house up enough to open the door. Needless to say, looks like I get a staycation from work.

    Update Mid Crisis

It feels like every drive is Sunday at one in the morning. Kinda feels funny, eight months ago, I had only just gotten my license. Now I drive a borrowed car with a letter from work taped to my dash stating the fact I am an essential worker.

    Update (Nov 11)

Kish, it's been a long time since the last time I checked in. Haven't had much time to. But since today I don't have the response time for gaming, the mental faculties for writing... and most definitely the lung power to do anything physical... I figured I might as well catch you guys up.

In short, I'm down with the flu.

Memory Monday; Cowgirl. · 4:10am Jun 23rd, 2015

Back to the years I go wanderin' once again, back to the season of my youth...

Back to a time afore the I cared about life, and the troubles with it, but not before the troubles began. This is where this nickname came from. I was born in a northern state... Something most people are quite surprised to find out. I don't act, sound, or even agree with most of the people from my birth state. But it's not surprising, I was 3 when Dad lost his job that first time and we moved south to live with my grandparents. This is where my nickname came from.

I don't exactly remember the move itself, I remember bits and pieces. Trips to ranches with my aunt afterwords... a Vaccation to a cousin's house... Dad's smashed finger-

Texas... that is where I live, and I have a great deal of pride in my state. And in the culture we have. I always loved horses. I always loved their soft noses, their big black eyes... not glass eyed, those creep me out! And, as a horse lover, I looked for an occupation with equine. Cowgirl was it.

Within but a few months I had 100% changed my wordrope. I only wore jeans, a hat... and don't forget those boots. Oh man I wore boots till... I still only really wear boots! Who am I kidding. I started reading every cowgirl story, and horse book in the ENTIRE library. I loved it.

Back to the move, it didn't take long for mom to get into her normal gig of educating us. She's a born teacher, and it's what she does, and what she loves. And since I had an interest in cowboy stuff, that is what she taught us about. Like what I normally did, and still do, I started submerging myself within the culture, even making up stories. I had a horse named Jingle Bells (For according to all the Christmas songs, that's what you name your horse. You know, Giddy up Jingle Horse...) I started wearing the cloths, and living the life.... most of the time. I wore my hair in 'cowgirl Braids.' The whole nine yards.

Now, Mom didn't drive. And Dad was 90% of the time out job hunting. Often he wasn't even in state. He'd fly, or drive up to where ever, and do what ever it was. So my relatives would... pick us up, and drop us off different places in town. Our all time favorite. The library.

My full nickname is 'VK, The Cowgirl Librarian'. For instead of rounding up cows, I rounded up books... And had them moo. I wish Mom had a picture of that one. I'd hunt the shelves for wolves, snakes, and most importantly Skunks... Well, Cowboy Sam had to deal with Skunks, Therefore, it was an important part of being a cowgirl, right? This nickname was given to me by the librarians of the library. I always made sure EVERYONE even LITTLE babies obeyed the rules. Like, no running. And Read it, don't eat it... I never understood why kids couldn't figure that one out. And most importantly, Kids, you can't sit there and just drag books off the shelves, and watch them fall to the ground. Oh man that move made me so mad. :rainbowlaugh: Still does. :pinkiecrazy:

Today... Well, I don't wear the hat, not unless it's raining. I don't wear a bandana, unless I'm mowing. Shoot, My boots are not even regular cowboy boots... But I still look to that season of my life as very important. It shaped me. Cowgirl isn't just a nickname, it was my dream. I wanted to be a cowgirl. I baught ropes, and practice heads, and... I bought saddles, and horese supplies... and I always had at least ONE pair of proper boots. It's who I am. In real life, I've only ever once worked with cows. In real life, I've never managed to rope a moving target. Stationary; sure, moving, nope.

But Despite everything, The nickname 'Cowgirl' has never left. I've not 'sniffed out skunks' in a while. I've never had to deal with a bat in my hat... (BTW, You are supposed to skidaddle. AJ, the song says so. Wish I could find that for you guys. Has a verse for Pinkie too, Gaters in the Potaters.) I've never slept under the stars... I haven't a clue how to play a guitar... besides that broom I used to play. :rainbowlaugh: but it's still me, and there is where it came from.

-------------------------------------

Yeah, I know, this could have been a ton cleaner. But I'm... struggling to stay awake, and am a bit frazzled. It's been an... interesting day. I do hope you guys enjoy the pictures. That's me. Back when I was young, cute, and innocent... And a winy crybaby. I think most little girls are that way.

Till next time,

Cowgirl Out.
