A Canterlot Wedding 10 Year Anniversary

I said in my last blog I might make some classic brony content, and I did!!! I've been experimenting with shorts lately. Out side of my nerd opinion rants and video essays I find the shorts a good way to making AMV style content without getting copyright flagged and Youtube even lets you sample certain sounds from other videos and artist but only for 15, seconds. One of the Naruto music shorts I

    I'm now a committed YouTuber

I was thinking about blogging about it for a while. I do apologies for never finishing any of the many stories I wrote. I just lost my spark and my drive after collage and struggled to motivate myself. But now I'm doing gaming and pop culture commentary on YouTube, trying to get monetized so I don't have to work at Home Depo anymore. I'm doing interviewers, reviewing that poorly written Halo

    Stand For Our Flag

Regardless of your views on President Trump, he is absolutely right on this issue. National Sports should be about unity, and disrespecting the flag only divides us and insults our men/women in uniforms. You can protest racial injustice without lumping the flag into it or politicizing a sport.

10 Steps to success on FIMfiction · 6:59pm Jun 22nd, 2015

1. Get an editor.

2. Experiment with the different genre - this is good for helping you account have variety and also helping you explore your own strengths as a writer.

3. Don't take too many projects up at one time - I made that mistake as you can see by all my incomplete works.

4. Communicate with your fans and followers. Make some friends!

5. Write a clop fic if you're morally comfortable doing so. If not stick with your conscious, but like it or not it is the easy ways to get views. If you feel that such writing is beneath you or just don't want to give in to the "dark side" of the fandom, don't feel ashamed about that. You will find making a successful SFW story is more satisfying than a clop fic, but also more challenging since unfortunately sex is a big seller in our society. The downside is people are less critical of your work, and will often rate your fic based on the subject matter rather than the execution. It all depends on what you want to be known for. Remember you can always set up some ground rules of things you will not write about. For instance, my mature fics are anthro only.

6. Don't let criticism get the better of you. This can be tough for some people. If someone give fair criticism, take what you can from it. If you feel like they are wrong, make a quick comment about why you did such and such, but don't go into a long back and forth. Getting into fights on your own story is not very professional.

7. The feature box is overrated and random, but if you get on, your channel will get more attention.

8. Try to create something original. Take the infamous human in Equestria romance stories. Between the serious entries and the parodies, it one of the most overused genre stories is fandom has created rivaling MainSix lesbian romance. However, if you can put a spin on it or a catch and make it own, it becomes its own story. My biggest inspirations for MMBB were the Zelda games, a traumatic experience involving death, and my love for mythology and religion (please no fedora tipping on that last one). Two other inspiration I have given credit too are the awesome fight scenes in fics like Loyalties Vengeance written by TheDash and We Fight As One by Chaos2012. I encourage you all to read them in your spare time.

9 Decorate your FiM Page. Put up pony photos, make a banner, highlight some of your personal favorites on film. Show the world what you're all about. Go nuts.

10. Wright for fun. If you want fame, trust that it will take time and commitment but also remember it's not the most important thing.

Let me know if there is anything I missed.

3. Don't take too many projects up at one time - I made that mistake as you can see by all my incomplete works.

The others are fair enough, but I'd like to say that this is one of those things that every writer should experiment with.

I know that many writers can't concentrate on more then one big project at a time, but others (like me) have a finicky muse that likes to flitter about between many different stories.

Just my personal two cents. Doesn't work for everybody, but it does for me.

1. Get and editor.

0. Don't type from the phone?

3171178 Now that you mention it, taking on a'lot of project actually really helped a little bit, but I just kept coming up with ideas and then I different people asking for updates on different stories. It got a little crazy, and I think I might have disappointed a few people down the road. Wrighting can be a big commitment.

Listen to this man, he speaks the truth, after all...look how I got here.

My current 'record' so far is a year between updates. (Not counting the one story on outright hiatus.)

And it was generally well received that update. :raritywink:

Sure, I might have lost a few readers due to lost interest, but most readers were just happy with a high-quility update I'd taken my time on.

Don't get me wrong, being able to update regularly is a skill all on its own, and I have nothing but respect for those that posses it. For me personally in the speed-quality-quantity lineup quality and quantity always wins since I think that's what long term produces the best stories.

The whole 'pick two' might be something of a cliche in its own right, but it's one of those with some truth to it.

1. Check! :rainbowwild:

2. I'm a nerd for adventurous stuff with deep and intricate storylines and plots. This is what happens when you grow up playing some of the most awesome RPG's in gaming history, though I never did play Final Fantasy for some reason.

3. I'm devoting all of my fanfic time and energy to my epic adventure/mystery series. :rainbowkiss:

4. Hello, Dash Attack!! How are you today? :pinkiehappy::heart:

5. I've always believed that a story or any work of art for that matter is more "artful" when it's done for the pleasure of it, not the purpose. Fun before fame. :twistnerd:

6. The very first bit of criticism on my story ever was a hilarious YouTube video in response to a grammatical error in my description. Now the poster and I are good buddies and talk a lot in PM's. Criticism (when it's actually constructive and not just flaming) is every artist's best friend because it's purpose is to help someone get better at what they do. :ajsmug:

7. Maybe someday, but I ain't gonna count on it. :derpytongue2:

8. If I were to elaborate on this one it would spoil my story. All I can say is that my inspiration comes from a multitude of some of my favorite games and some movies, and I found a way to weave it into something that still stays close to "canon-possible." :moustache:

9. "Yessir, I'll have to do that one of these days." -Pa Kettle. :rainbowlaugh:

10. To repeat myself: fun before fame. :raritywink:

Hmm...Not a bad idea.
