The Discordian Games: Round 1 Spotlights -- Pratfall vs. Kakumei · 7:30pm Jun 19th, 2015
For each of the pairings, I'll be doing a blog giving details on them. All this information is available here, with the full list of character bios. As well, I'll put a link directly to their fights and voting doc. Every Saturday, I'll post another one with a new pairing.
Closing off round one comes a merry prankster vs. a reptilian supremacist.

Battlefield: The Teeny Titanic Toyshop
This battlefield takes place within a massive workshop and warehouse, specifically one for toys of all sizes and shapes. It is basically a giant facility of interconnected rooms--some large and filled with shelves filled with toys and playthings, some small, like offices, and others long, apparently one time used for manufacture. Dolls, tops, kites, puppets, toyhouses… All sorts of toys are scattered throughout the entire facility. Perhaps most common is a model of the Toyshop itself--which, although too small to be sure, appears to have figures moving within. The trick to the field is twofold. First, the rooms are empathic, reacting and altering, both in mood and physical shape, based upon the emotions of those within--with its naturally creepy aesthetic and abandoned air, a general sense of foreboding and fear is most common, but anger and energy can make the rooms violent in appearance, threatening those within. Every time one passes through a door, the new room may be vastly different than the old. At the same time, passing through a door also seems to alter one’s sense of scale. In one room a pony may be towering over little dolls--in the next, the dolls may seem like giants. Furthermore, any glance outside the rare window produces visions of simply more of the Toyshop, but always much, much larger.
Pratfall
Race: Pegasus Pony
Description: A light purple coat, dark green eyes, and short, spiky orange hair make this pegasus a sight to see. Compared to most pegasi, he has a somewhat larger build. His cutie mark is a rubber chicken.
Origin: Future, Manehattan
Capabilities: A curious opponent, Pratfall relies on the quick, accurate strikes most pegasi utilize, as opposed to blunt force. However, he also keeps with him various comedic paraphernalia, most of which is used as distraction but some he has converted to be dangerous tools. Furthermore, his personality is that of the cruel joker, enjoying the laugh at whatever expense. As a result, he is somewhat unpredictable and hard to follow from a sane pony’s perspective; often he is underestimated. He especially enjoys his ability to anger his opponents, who then become reckless in their enraged states.
Bio: Growing up in Manehattan is never easy, but Pratfall always seemed to have the short end of the stick. When he was very young, he found himself lost in a factory that produced various comedic items. Eventually, he found his way to the rubber chicken section, which fascinated him. Then he found the incinerator, where piles of defective chickens were taken and turned to ash. Something within him broke as he watched the outcasts destroyed--when he went in, he cried. When he left? He was laughing. Since then, he has done his best to try and live up to what he feels is his talent of bringing laughter to others. But somehow, no matter how he tried, he never seemed to be able to quite succeed.
Motivation: Despite his quirks and often strong anti-social behaviour, Pratfall wants, above all things, to be respected by society. Though at first he tries to entertain, soon he finds himself the target of laughter, not his jokes. He sees Discord as something of a kindred spirit and prays he can be victorious so that the Chaos lord will grant him his wish and make everyone see Pratfall for the wonderful comedic genius that he is.
Kakumei
Race: Dragon
Description: A teenager amongst dragonkind, Kakumei’s scales are a brilliant gold, while her belly, claws, and wings are a rich black. She also possesses black spines that run down her back and two white horns atop her head.
Origin: Far Past, Pre-Nightmare, Canterlot
Capabilities: As with most dragons, despite her young age Kakumei is a resilient and capable fighter. She prefers to approach to melee and attack with powerful kicks, but she can also utilize her dragon’s fire if need be. She has wings, though they are still somewhat new, and is a very intelligent and cunning individual.
Bio: A dragon grown up mostly amongst ponies, Kakumei is a very intelligent, cultured soul who harbors a deep resentment, effectively a hatred, for ponykind. Thanks to her mother, she was able to attend one of the most prestigious schools in Canterlot, and there learned about ponykind’s relationship to the world as well as her own race. Over the years, she became furious at ponykind’s treatment of the natural world, their meddling and controlling ways appalling her. Eventually, this led to an obsession, bordering on madness, with finding a way to bring her own people to the fore as the primary power in the world. A natural state, she felt, only prevented due to her kind’s inherent greed making them a fragmented and isolated race. So she has turned all her studies in finding a way to overcome this racial weakness.
Motivation: When brought to the Games by Discord, Kakumei felt nothing but glee--here was a creature who may give her everything she wanted and more, leading to a new revolution placing dragons at the top where they clearly belonged. She would destroy any who might get in her way--removing the dragon penchant for greed was worth any sacrifice.
