Rated T For Tool · 6:33pm Jun 15th, 2015
So yesterday my parents, sister, and I went shopping. My dad went to the sporting goods store to look for Binoculars and left me and my sister at gamestop. Now, my parents are notoriously stuck-up when it comes to the content of video games. My sister wanted Assassins Creed: Black Flag and was worried that our parents wouldn't let her have it because it's rated M. (our parents have NEVER previously allowed us to have an M rated game) I figured she had a chance (considering now that she's 16 and I'm 18) to get the game and could convince our parents that there wasn't any questionable content. I went the safe route and chose Destiny (a rated T video game) because I thought for sure since it wasn't rated M that I would be allowed to get it. (they have never refused to let me have a rated T video game before and even let me have rated T games when I was around 6 years old) They eventually allowed my sister to get Assassins Creed which made me think that they weren't as stuck-up as I thought. Then, I showed them Destiny and asked them for the game. They said they didn't like the guns. I argued that it was rated T and there was no sex and no blood. They didn't let me have the game (What the fuck) and then I picked the most innocent game I even REMOTELY wanted (Digimon: All Star Rumble) I'm tired of my parents treating me like a fucking ten year old. I hate that I'm stuck here until I save some money and get a different job with more hours, and my parents are going to continue treating me like a ten year old all through my twenties.
There's a silver lining here. Destiny is a horrible game that tricks you out of your money and gives you half a story and lackluster multiplayer. But wait! Pay for this DLC and we'll add in 3 more missions with the exact same content and another Raid to grind away your life on!
