That awkward moment when... · 7:24am Jul 23rd, 2012
... You look back at a previous chapter of a story to make sure you stay within canon in respect to descriptions, building layouts, and room decor; and see that the chapter that both myself and my editor thought was up to my high standards now wouldn't pass as garbage. I would normally say the chapter name, but I am afraid of giving up spoilers, but lets say that in five sentences, not only did I find about half a dozen grammar errors, but EVEN MYSELF, THE GOD DAMN AUTHOR, got lost for a moment on who was talking, and what they were talking about. That isn't even mentioning how iffy the scene flowed, how short the sentences appeared, and how forced the dialogue felt.
Makes me wanna rewrite everything pre-"Strained, Broken, and Shattered" at the very least. Why that much? because that's 20 chapters, and no real reason else.
Try not to think of it as "I used to be bad," think of it as "I've improved so much!"
Not that I'm in any real position to give writing advice...
Also I made this for you because I'm silly.
